Glamping Cabin - Glamping Lodge PodsApr 2024

I think the accommodation offers good value for money. It is set in a beautiful quiet location. The facilities are basic but that is reflected in the price. If you want a peaceful escape away from it all, this is perfect.

Glamping Cabin - Glamping Lodge PodsMar 2024

We spent Easter weekend in 'Roe Deer Lodge'. Lovely little welcome gift from Neil & Ann when we arrived was a nice touch. We had a fun weekend exploring the lake district, location was great 👍🏻 The lodge was an adventure and would be great in warmer months but was incredibly cold in the night, we had to go out and buy a quilt and a heater as sleeping bags were not enough. The bench seats that make the beds for the children definitely need an air mat or an air bed on them, as the mats on them are very narrow. Definitely take an electric kettle or gas camping stove, as getting the BBQ going to boil the kettle was pretty hard work, which meant a long wait for a brew. We would definitely return with our tent, the site is basic but hot (ish) showers and clean facilities. The local pub, The White Hart, was lovely, a real country pub atmosphere and the food was ok too. Highly recommend the fresh eggs from the farm house too, they were delicious.

Glamping Cabin - Glamping Lodge PodsSep 2023

The park was small and quiet, it was lovely. The pod itself was lovely, basic, but had what you needed. The fire/BBQ pit was great in the middle of the pod, especially for the colder nights. You will need your own bedding, towels etc and we took a little plug in electric stove and we could cook just about anything. The facilities included a shower and toilet facility along with a washing up station and these were clean and appropriate. The boiler went off one day and it was a cold shower that morning, but we didn't mind at all. The local country pub is a short 5 min walk from the site and we visited on 2 nights. A half hour drive to Coniston, Windermere etc. Ann and Neil were very helpful beforehand in answering my questions and Neil met us when we arrived. The only improvement I would suggest is that the cleaners do a more thorough dusting job, there were cobwebs and dust on the shelves. But that wouldn't put us off staying again, in fact, we are going back with the children sometime. Would recommend if you are looking for basic, cosy, quiet, a good price and lovely scenery 😊

Site's response

Many thanks for taking the time to leave us this great review. We are pleased you enjoyed your weekend with us in our glamping lodge and that you found the accommodation and facilities satisfactory. We are also pleased that you enjoyed the indoor barbecue and fire pit. This can cause some dust within the lodge when in use. Spiders and flying insects can be an issue too at different times of the year, but we will note what you mentioned about the cobwebs and dust. We are delighted that you would like to return and we look forward to welcoming you back with your family. Ann and Neil
