About Wardley Hill Campsite

Settled in a valley between Beccles and Bungay, this relaxed and quiet campsite promotes a back to basics camping experience. There are no marked out pitches, so you can choose to pitch your tent where you like, choosing one of the many secret spaces cut into the long grass or perhaps finding a spot nestled among the trees. Motor vehicles aren't allowed into the camping area, so you can kick back and let the kids run around without fear of them running into an SUV, and you won't be woken in the night by headlights illuminating your tent as Bob and Jill return from the pub. Trolleys are provided for you to transport your equipment. For those of you 'too posh to pitch' or if you just fancy something different, there's the Tinkers Hut which has space to sleep five, with a toasty wood burner and beautifully kitted out interior. Or why not stay in the Touareg bell tent with room for up to two adults and two children. Inside you'll find a double bed and two futons, along with solar lighting and tea/coffee facilities. There's even a tree tent option where you can sleep suspended in the trees! Dogs are welcome for a small feel in the Tinkers Hut. Please note, that this site is a quiet site and asks all campers to be courteous of your neighbours.

Camping, touring, the tree tent and the tinkers hut are available from the 29th March to the 14th October. The bell tent is available from 19th July to 30th August.

A note from the site themselves...

We love camping but we are generally are not too keen on campsites! We have transformed our former grazing meadow flanked by trees into a site we would actually like to stay on. It's more about what we don't do than what facilities we have. No marked out pitches, no hot tubs, no bar, no cars in the camping field, no clubhouse, and no playground.

Camping for us is about being outside and respectfully enjoying nature. Ditch Spotify and YouTube, light a campfire, sit on the grass and re-set yourselves.

Small Tent - Grass Tent PitchesMay 2024

Superb layout that allows small tents and large family tents space and interesting surroundings. Quiet, well maintained and that gets just right the balance between "nearly wild" and facilities (showers, toilets, pot cleaning areas. Well thought through site catering for campervans, small and large tents. Gives a feeling of remoteness but with facilities (shops, pubs, petrol) all within easy reach.

Large Tent - Grass Tent PitchesMar 2024

We had a lovely stay at Warley Hill Campsite. The owner Joe who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly, he was around often made the experience very personal, the little Easter eggs were a lovely touch! As for the campsite itself we loved the natural feel between the pitches, the little forest area was lovely as well, the toilets and washing up area were clean to use. We also made use of the library being able to borrow games and swap a book. 2 of the local towns were only a short drive away, with some nice shops as well as walks! Thank you Wardley Hill Campsite, we will definitely be back!

Site's response

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay on our first weekend open of the year.
