About Wardley Hill Campsite
Settled in a valley between Beccles and Bungay, this relaxed campsite promotes a back to basics camping experience. There are no marked out pitches, so you can choose to pitch your tent where you like, choosing one of the many secret spaces cut into the long grass or perhaps finding a spot nestled among the trees.
Motor vehicles aren't allowed into the camping area, so you can kick back and let the kids run around without fear of them running into an SUV, and you won't be woken in the night by headlights illuminating your tent as Bob and Jill return from the pub. Trolleys are provided for you to transport your equipment.
For those of you 'too posh to pitch' or if you just fancy something different, there's the Tinkers Hut which has space to sleep five, with a toasty wood burner and beautifully kitted out interior.
Or why not stay in the Touareg bell tent with room for up to two adults and two children. Inside you'll find a double bed and two futons, along with solar lighting and tea/coffee facilities. There's even a tree tent option where you can sleep suspended in the trees!
There is also a standard sized shepherd's hut on site and hammock hut.
Dogs are welcome in the Tinker Hut.
Camping, touring, the tree tent and the tinkers hut are available from the 29th March to the 14th October. The bell tent is available from 19th July to 30th August.

A note from the site themselves...
We love camping but we are generally are not too keen on campsites! We have transformed our former grazing meadow flanked by trees into a site we would actually like to stay on. It's more about what we don't do than what facilities we have. No marked out pitches, no hot tubs, no bar, no cars in the camping field, no clubhouse, and no playground.
Camping for us is about being outside and respectfully enjoying nature. Ditch Spotify and YouTube, light a campfire, sit on the grass and re-set yourselves.

This is one of the best campsites I have stayed on. It feels very close to nature with the long grasses surrounding each pitch and the compostable toilets.
Wonderful hot showers. A lovely pocket of (ancient?) woodland at the back. I met a fox when filling water bottles in the morning. Loud hooting owls at night. Great idea of using old washing machine drums for fires. Very helpful owner.
The whole experience left me with a calm, positive feeling.

Large Tent - Grass Tent PitchesJul 2023
We found the no car approach revelatory… transporting gear by barrow was easy and the benefits of the campsite retaining its wildness, quietness and safety vastly outstripped the very minor inconvenience of not being able to park next to your tent.
All the pitches appeared to be secluded and were surrounded by tall grasses (with their inhabitants audible to those with acute hearing). The toilets and showers took a bit of adjustment at first but worked terrifically and they set the standard for responsible eco-friendly camping.
We also formed the impression that any problem would have been dealt with at the drop of a hat. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this.
Compared to traditional camping/touring parks, we are worlds apart and that is most certainly our intention. Campers come with all sorts of needs and expectations and we are lucky in the UK that there is a wide range of campsites to visit. Some with swimming pools and awning charges, some with Llamas to pet and others with just campfires and stars.
Thank you for giving us a go and we are so pleased you wish to return.
Our sphynx cat approves.
First impressions we were taken away with the beauty. A maze of high standing grass and wildflowers surrounded the area with open patches of walkways.
Dotted around were fire pits. With the option to by the wood on site. Along with handmade wooden chairs and stools.
We were greeted by the owner, Joe. He was friendly and welcomed us to the camp. He gave us recommendations to local pubs and things to do near by.
On site there was a handmade library filled with local broachers and games to guide tourists.
The toilets were all composable, which is great for the environment. Amazing to see.
We travel with our sphynx cat, Apollo and sometimes this can be a challenge with dogs near by. However, this camp had zones for taking your dog off the lead. It also attracted down to earth friendly campers.
Overall, Wardley Hill was a breath of fresh air from regular campsites.
