Pod - Ensuite Deluxe Wigwam Pods (Pet Free)Jul 2023We stayed as a family for a short visit. We were greeted on arrival and given lots of helpful information. The pod was immaculate and had everything we could have needed as well as some lovely extra touches such as complimentary hot drink sachets and a pint of milk in the fridge. It was warm, comfortable and spacious enough for my 6ft 2in husband.
The location is within a 5 min drive from Manorbier beach, which has a lovely hilltop view on the way there.
We hired the BBQ, which was great value, and came with an easy light up bag of coal. We also purchased the colourful magic fire sachets for the fire pit, which the children loved. The couple that run this site are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Very happy with our stay and would highly recommend.

We are always interested to hear that our guests have enjoyed the local scenery. The fire pit and colourful sachets are very popular, it is nice to know that the children enjoyed them.

Pro's and Caveats
Pod - Ensuite Deluxe Accessible Wigwam Pods (Pet Free)Aug 2023My wife was very impressed by the cleanliness of the facility. Therefore, this has earned the 4-star rating.
However, as far as I'm concerned, there are caveats which would not give that score. Personally, I would have scored the site at 2 or 3 stars, as set out below...
The good things about this site was that it is very clean and hygienic which is nice and very much appreciated. Thank you. Quiet location. Secure cabin doors/windows. Electricity included in booking price. Hot shower (immersion heater-driven). Good free WIFI provision. Plenty of USB & electrical sockets . Kitchen utensils provided. 800W microwave. Small kitchen sink with hot water. Small fridge and freezer. A helpful site manager.
Central location to Tenby, Pembroke and beaches.
There were some Caveats. Very tight car parking area for larger vehicles. The car park is shared between the site owners dual business operations - a garden machinery sales and service business and the cabin hire business. This may mean the car park becoming clogged at times, especially the entry to it.
Narrow country lane approach to the cabin site and a hazardous main road junction & site entry/exit for any vehicle type
Your car must be permanently left and parked up to 100 to 200 metres from your cabin during your stay at the site. You will be given a wheel barrow by the site manager to bowl your belongings to and from your cabin. This is not a joke!
Claustrophobic experience for some people, e.g. the cabin has lack of windows which may afford a tunnel-like entrapment sensation for some people. The cabin is like a sauna on hot nights. If your health is compromised by heat, be prepared. We were given a disabled person's cabin instead of the cabin we booked so be prepared e.g. I had to kneel down on the bathroom floor so I could brush my teeth at the bathroom sink!
Lack of privacy in some cabins. Our cabin was aligned/orientated such that the entry door to our living area was on full view to all and sundry who arrived in the car park. Stark cabin lighting. Bring a lamp or two of your own to plug in, in case of need to read without disturbing your partner at night.
Fire pit smoke inhalation hazard for asthmatics or those who have compromised respiratory conditions, e.g. COPD etc; Smoke from lighted neighbours fire pits may find its way through your open cabin windows. Be prepared, especially on hot nights
Even if used carefully, the cabin kitchen area toaster will set off the cabin fire alarm - be prepared for this.
Arrival (16pm) and departure (10am) times are unreasonable. The reason for these constraints seems due to the lack of staff available to prepare cabins between bookings. Even so, this is not the fault of customers. 15pm and Noon arrival and departure times would be more conducive.
Overall, for what the site affords, I think £430 for 3 nights is too expensive and not value for money, especially when you end up with a cabin you did not book originally. The car parking being problematic and other cabin neighbours lighted and smoking firepits may make some peoples' stay uncomfortable on hot nights.
I will revert back to hotel rooms and/or campsites or different cabin sites for a more reliable experience next time.
I would not recommend this cabin park nor would I discourage booking it. I can only suggest future customers being more prepared from the pointers I set out above on their first visit to the site.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review.
First the positives!
We are very pleased to hear that your wife was impressed by the cleanliness, and that you thought it was clean & hygienic which was nice and appreciated. We are also pleased to hear that we have a helpful site manager. It is great that you think we have a central location to Tenby & Pembroke beaches.
Regarding your caveats! Yes! the car park area may become busy at times, but this is uncommon. The narrow country lane approach from The Ridgeway is not something we have any control over. The hazardous main road junction, (We assume this is the one 200 yards away) is not the only exit. You can drive through the small housing estate and access the main road with good visibility in both directions.
Your car must be parked in the car park for the safety of all our guests - especially children! The cabin you stayed in was about 20 yards from your car. You are offered a wheel barrow to transport your luggage, if you don't wish to carry it. Many of our guests appreciate them and see it as part of the fun!
Claustrophobic - lack of windows? The cabin you were in has 4 windows in the main area and a glass panelled door. There is also a frosted glass Velux window in the en-suite wet room.
You commented that the cabin is like a sauna on a hot night. If you leave all the windows, blinds and curtains closed while you are out in the daytime, the cabin doesn't get too hot at night. Not in the cabin you booked? If you check your booking confirmation (which you receive by email after you have made your online booking) You will see that you did in fact book the Ensuite Deluxe Accessible Wigwam Pod. (Pet-Free) So you were in the Cabin you booked!
Having to kneel down to clean your teeth? We accept the washbasin is slightly lower to accommodate wheelchair users. However! You can lean over the washbasin, you do not need to kneel on the floor!
Smoke from firepits finding it's way through the window? Perhaps you could open the windows on the opposite side of the cabin to the fire? Toaster setting off smoke alarm - This is a wired-in smoke alarm for the safety of all our guests.
If we allow guests to vacate at noon and check in at 3pm - 3 hours is insufficient time to clean 6 cabins to a high standard. We could take on more staff to turn the cabins around quicker, but this would lead to an increase in the nightly rate!
We wish you had made us aware of these "caveats" during your stay. We would have been able to address them at the time.
We are sorry you didn't enjoy your glamping experience. If you do book different accommodation in the future, we advise you double check what you have booked so you are not disappointed! We wish you well! Team Shellstone,
