Moss Lane Cottage Camping is a great place to pitch up and relax on the Welsh border, near Whitchurch. It's a back to basics campsite in the heart of farming countryside and spread over two fields with just eight spacious pitches for tents and campervans. Located in the village of Hanmer, it's a 15-minute stroll from the popular Hanmer Mere lake, perfect for open-water swimming!

A small and laid-back campsite near the picturesque village of Hanmer, home to the large Mere (lake) for open water swimming. It's ideally located on the Welsh border in the Shropshire countryside, just a 15 minute drive to several towns such as Whitchurch and Ellesmere. Spread over two and a half acres, the site has two secluded fields for camping and touring with simple facilities, including a communal building with a fridge. Don't forget your torch, as much of the site is unlit. The top field has three grass pitches with electric hook up, while the bottom has eight spacious grass pitches. Both are suitable for tents, trailer tents and campervans. Looking to spend time with all the family? Larger families are welcome to pitch up together on the camping field. Pets are welcome.
The site is open for weekends only between 24th May and 21st September.

The site is on two and a half acres of countryside, providing enough space for a family game of rounders and cricket - you can find games in the communal building.
A short 10-minute walk away, you are able to go open water swimming in the beautiful Hanmer Mere (boats and kayaks not allowed). It's a fresh and warm lake that has a lovely little sandy bay you might even get all to yourself.
The village of Hanmer itself is beautiful, it's a little piece of Wales that projects into North West England known as the Maelor. Head on one of the many country walks, including The Maelor Way.
The site is 6 miles from the vibrant town of Ellesmere (15 minutes) with its beautiful lake and medieval streets. Wander the formal gardens, visit the antique or arts and crafts shop or head to the weekly market that has been running since 1221.
Whitchurch is also 6 miles from Whitchurch (10 minutes), the northernmost market town in Shropshire sitting on the borders of south Cheshire and Wales.
