Great Haywood Canalside Campsite is a rural, laidback site with beautiful canalside camping on the edge of Cannock Chase. All of the pitches are non electric with grass for tents and hardstanding for campervans. Set opposite an award-winning farm shop/café, there are lovely walks beside the water and welcoming pubs within a ten minute walk too. The site is peaceful and picturesque, with dogs more than welcome.

The campsite is a great place for families, offering picturesque scenery and lots of space to play and relax. Sit back and watch the boats at Haywood Junction or explore the many local footpaths, cycling trails, pubs and cafes. There are 20 non electric grass pitches next to the canal provide back-to-basics camping for tents only. If coming in a campervan, the site also has 20 non electric hardstanding pitches with grass. All of the pitches welcome up to five guests, with a 'pick your own pitch' approach. Four-legged friends are more than welcome, with up to five allowed per pitch. A dedicated dog walking area is provided, and there are lots of great walks within Cannock Chase. The National Trust Shugborough Estate is also only a 20 minutes walk away with extensive parkland, a Georgian mansion and a walled garden. Raised BBQs and fire pits are also permitted onsite, perfect for an evening of al fresco cooking or toasting marshmallows.
The site is open for weekends between 29th March and 26th May.

Have a lovely afternoon exploring the Shugborough Estate, a ten minute drive away, which includes a lovely café and tea room. You can also take yourself a little further to the impressive Trentham Estate (25 minutes) and its forest full of cheeky monkeys and Trentham Treetop Adventures.
For animal lovers, the National Forest Adventure Farm is a 30 minute drive from the site. Kids can go wild in the indoor and outdoor adventure parks with jumping pillows and mini golf, or meet the friendly animals, including shetland ponies, goats and cows.
If you want to test your fear of heights, Alton Towers is also just 35 minutes away. Ride the 14 loop Smiler rollercoaster, get a fright on the Dungeons ride, or have a giggle during the Gangster Granny ride with special effects and bubbles along the way.
