Brilliant for the price

Brilliant little park, seemed to be family ran, definitely could do with a little bit of renovation and a tart up with buildings half built/knocked down. Everyone was friendly though.

Golitha Falls 5 minutes away

Good little stop for a few nights, Has a very nice toilet/shower room and waste disposal, Very good price and friendly staff. Golitha Falls is just a 5 minute drive away and very pleasant walk through the woodland. Sat-nav will stop you too early. Keep going and you'll see the sign post for Golitha Falls and the car park is at Inkie's Smokehouse. By the way, you have to stop off at Inkie's. Lovely food and staff.

Very helpful staff

Stayed at this small site as we were visiting friends in the area. Easy to find using campsite postcode. The young man who checked us in was extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The shower/toilet block is immaculate and very spacious. We could hear some noise from passing trains, but this did not trouble us. It is not the prettiest site we have stayed at, but if you just want a base to explore the surrounding area then it's ideal as it's very clean and well managed.

A mixed bag

My husband and I stayed with our dog for 2 nights. The site is easy to find just off the A38 and convenient as a base to site see in Cornwall. Arrival was stressful as you had to stop at the barrier with no prior warning to ring a number. The caravan was stuck halfway across the road while we waited for a member of staff to let us in. We were given a number to ring so we could come and go after that, which worked fine when we were just using the car, but departure with the caravan was a disaster! The exit was far too steep and the barrier didn't open in time, so we had to stop on the hill and nearly burned our clutch out. A man, who I presume was the owner, came out and held the barrier open for us to get out, so it looks like we could have done this ourselves but we were never told about this. The site is very untidy, as it is in the middle of a reservation, that's fine. But if the site is open for guests, then it should be fit for purpose, and I didn't think it was. It's a dark site, perfect for star gazing, but the ground is uneven and there are very steep steps to get to the toilet block and facilities with insufficient lighting, which was very dangerous for the people staying on the upper levels. The site says it's dog friendly but there was no dog walking area on site, meaning the only grass for them to go to the toilet was outside people's lodges, which made us feel very uncomfortable. The toilet and showers were very nice and very clean, which was great, but the chemical toilet was dirty! There was no flush and there was "things" just laying on the top of the grate! It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time. Overall we managed to have a good weekend but this site needs to take on board the constructive criticisms as it could be really nice.

Work in progress maybe?

First of all, I sent an email to the owner to address my concerns but he hasn't answered. Guy was relatively friendly on arrival, little vague about facilities etc, but only a small site so no big deal. First concern for us, the barrier is too close to the road, so your rig hangs out on the highway on arrival. You need to call a number on the gate for his attention, so you could be there several minutes, which I felt was quite dangerous. The chemical toilet disposal area was disgusting. It was like it hadn't been cleaned! Site is quite messy, building materials, empty gas canisters, lengths of uPVC covered in green algae (so been there a while) littering the upper level. Shame really, as it could be a nice site with a little more management. Location is great for getting about.

Quiet and peaceful

The site was well-maintained and tidy. Facilities were good and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Probably not suitable for young children as no activities. However, it was very quiet and peaceful. Makes an ideal starting point for exploring Cornwall and fairly close to many attractions and beaches. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet and peaceful stay and would definitely use again.

Relaxing break

Had a lovely three night stay here. Nathan the site manager is a wonderful, very friendly and helpful young chap. He is working very hard on up-keeping the site, which in time will be amazing. The toilet block is one of the best I've ever seen, they are lovely and clean. I didn't use the washing machines or tumble dryers but they also looked very clean and reasonably priced. The site wardens are very friendly and happy to help. I would recommend this site, it's very close to Bodmin Moor, which has plenty of walks to explore. I will definitely be returning to this lovely site 😃

Tranquil

Booked a last minute pitch and what a great place! Called the number on the barrier and we were greeted at the gate and shown where our pitch was. The gentleman gave us lots of information about water, showers, waste, barrier and toilets. The site is lovely and peaceful and the toilets and showers are very clean. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely setting

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but the site is really well run, the facilities are fresh, modern and very clean. We will return in the spring, hopefully no rain🙏🏻

Not for a light sleeper

Toilet and shower blocks were very clean and well maintained. Access to site is very good just off the A38 however if you are a light sleeper then this site is really not for you due to 'humming' noise of the traffic from the A38 from 5am until around 11pm each day. There is the odd train and behind the edge of the site is a well used lane. The pitches aren't the best but the new owner is working to improve the site.

The owner was an absolute pleasure

Cannot wait to be back and see the views. Absolutely stunning. I've already booked to go back end of August. Nathan was a pleasure from start to finish. He was always ready to help and offered to help everyone who arrives to his site. The views are beautiful whatever the weather - I could happily sit there forever.
