About Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Village
The is a family run resort, nestled into the unspoilt landscape of the Rame Head Peninsula. It was once an area of coastal defence and is steeped in fascinating history - with cannons that lie along the cliffside and many secrets to discover within its architecture. For those travelling on foot, there are smaller hiker pitches for two along with larger pitches for six. Each of these grass pitches comes without electric. Some of the pitches have breathtaking views out to sea. Tent campers, along with tourers and RVs, can opt for a fully serviced grass pitch. Allowing up to ten guests, the pitches are equipped with electric, water and grey waste hook ups. These lovely spacious pitches are great for those wanting to set up their outdoor furniture. Motorhomes, caravans and campervans can also pitch up on one of the eight fully serviced hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook ups, grey waste disposal, and water hook ups. Allowing units of up to 6m x 5m, and with an adjacent parking space, these pitches are great for those months when the ground is damp. Please note, sea view is from vantage points on the park, not pitches If you're looking for a bit of luxury, the site has a range of lodges along with bed and breakfast suites. The lodges sleep between two and six, each equipped with spacious bedrooms, a comfy living area, fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Outside you will have your own private decking, great for al fresco dining. Bedroom suites are just for two. Each cabin-style bedroom comes with a king or twin bed, tea and coffee-making facilities and a wetroom. You are welcome to bring your four-legged friends with you, with up to two dogs allowed per pitch and in the lodges.
Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Village is open all year round.
Site facilities include free shower rooms and toilets with baby changing, a dishwashing area and a site launderette. The onsite Fort Inn is a restaurant and bar set in a historic venue which serves locally sourced food and a popular all-day Sunday carvery. The park also has a cafe and a heated indoor pool alongside a kiddie pool.
Internet access is available from the bar/restaurant and may not reach every pitch.
The nearest shop is Millbrook Premier Stores, a five minute drive away. Just a ten minute walk from the site, you will find the Adventure Bay Surf School where you can learn to paddle board, surf, coasteering and more.

I would definitely recommend this site, it has well maintained campervan and caravan plots that are very big to allow for your vehicle and awnings etc. The shower and toilet blocks were clean and had good water pressure, great for a nice hot shower. We didn't get to try the Sunday lunch but if it's as good as the breakfast, I'm sure it will be amazing! We had a vegetarian and a traditional Cornish breakfast and they were great value for money and very tasty. The restaurant has real character having been built into the interesting landscape. The whole area has a lot of military history.

Very quiet when I stayed in January but the indoor pool and café/bar were still open. It's best to book a time for the pool in advance as they keep numbers down, which prevents it getting too crowded. The pool is lovely, quite big, and was warm and spotlessly clean. There are amazing views out to sea and a little path down to the beach from just across the road. You can also see inland towards Plymouth and Dartmoor beyond that. I had a fully serviced pitch with drinking water, grey water disposal, hook up and Elsan disposal, all on the very spacious level pitch.

Things to do on site and in the Torpoint area
The site has its own indoor heated swimming pool, perfect for splashing around with the kids. A ten minute walk will also take you to the nearest sandy beach, perfect for those summer months. Here you will also find the Adventure Bay Surf School if you want to learn how to ride some waves.
Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park is just a 15 minute drive away. Here you can learn about the fascinating history of the Tudor building and its magnificent tapestries. You can also enjoy plenty of outdoor activities such as alpaca trekking, segway tours and archery lessons.
Just over the River Tamar, you will also find the city of Plymouth with plenty of attractions to keep you busy. The Royal William Yard (50 minutes) is full of great shopping opportunities along with charming cafes to sit and watch the boats bob up and down in the marina.
Thrill seekers can also head to Adrenalin Quarry, just a 25 minute drive from site. Take part in thrilling activities such as axe throwing, playing around in the water park, racing on go-karts and much more!
