Barnard Castle is the nearest town to this lovely site, which is a very peaceful spot and an excellent base for exploring Teesdale and the Yorkshire Dales as well as a haven for walkers and cyclists.
There are plenty of other outdoor activities and attractions nearby, with riding stables and pony trekking available next to the Club Site at Raygill Farm, a falconry centre and indoor play barn at Thorpe Farm Centre, and England's highest unbroken waterfall, High Force. The town of Barnard Castle can be reached by a lovely countryside walk from site, and offers a variety of attractions including Bowes Museum. Non-members welcome.
