About Calwich Under Canvas
This is a beautiful site set in private surroundings, brushing the border of the Peaks. It's an idyllic setting where families and couples can reconnect and forget all about the stresses of day to day life. Three of the yurts sleep four, with luxurious double beds and extra futons/sofa beds for a great night's sleep. The bedding is of the highest quality with luxury Egyptian cotton sheets, towels and fluffy dressing gowns all adding to the pampering. Couples will also love the cosy yurt for two, great for a romantic getaway. This yurt also has its own private outdoor hot tub, ideal for enjoying a glass of bubbly under the stars. All of the yurts come equipped with a wood burning stove and basket of logs to keep you cosy, along with candles and lanterns. For extra storage, you will have an ottoman, along with an indoor table and chairs to enjoy your complimentary, locally sourced breakfast hamper. Step outside and you will find your private decking area with a table and chairs, great for al fresco dining. All guests will also have access to the communal hot tub and sauna, perfect for some much needed relaxation. Please note, this is a pet free site.
Calwich Under Canvas is open from 01/01 to 02/01 and 17/03 to 31/12.
Site facilities include separate male and female modern facility blocks, each with three waterfall showers, toilets and underfloor heating. Women also have hairdryers and straighteners and there is a large disabled bathroom.
A well equipped kitchen hut offers gas ovens, hobs, microwaves, kettles a fridge/freezer, crockery and utensils. USB charging is also available and there is an indoor social space. Guests have full access to the site's hot tub and sauna.
The Duncombe Arms is just a 25 minute walk or a few minutes in the car. There is also an Aldi just a ten minute drive from the site.

The positives: lovely site, the yurts are well laid out and nice, well equipped site and very clean, Jason was very attentive and was brilliant in sorting out the hot tub whenever we wanted to use it, the little food hamper given was a nice touch and the sausage and bacon were quality meat. The negative: having the kids with us 😂

An amazing location, the yurts and facilities are excellent and the owner could not have been more accommodating. The breakfast hamper & the hot tub are great additions too, the photos don't do it justice. The Yurts are stunning inside and we will be returning with our friends. Highly recommend and Dovedale is only a 15 minutes drive away & a great day out. We stayed with our younger children who loved the grounds to play in and being able to see the stars at night whilst lying in bed! Can't wait to return!

Such a lovely place to stay. The couple's yurt with private hot tub was just perfect for a relaxing, peaceful time away. The kitchen and washing facilities were very clean and well maintained. The hot tub decided to break the day prior to our arrival so Jason spent extra time filling it up with hot water from the tap several times a day which worked really well, you wouldn't have even noticed the issue. Overall a great stay, will definitely be coming back in the future.

On the hunt for wild rides and the thrill of rollercoasters? Alton Towers is just a 15 minute drive away, full of rides and adventures. Get soaked at the Alton Towers Waterpark and let the kids go wild in Cbeebies Land.
Put your best foot forward with unbeatable walks and bike rides across the Peak District National Park (15 minutes). There are trails in every direction and all promise impressive views. Thor's Cave is just a 30 minute drive away and offers a fascinating insight into how our predecessors used to live.
If watersports are your thing, a visit to Carsington Water Visitor Centre (25 minutes) is a must. You can hire a rowing boat, take out a kayak, have a go at paddleboarding or even try windsurfing. If you want to stay on land, you can also hire a bike and enjoy waterside cycling trails.
