About Balnab Farm
This third generation farm is set amongst open grassland, a safe and spacious spot for the whole family to enjoy and explore. Ideally located to the stunning Scottish Coast just 10 minutes from Rigg Bay and Garlieston,
Enjoy panoramic views from your canvas lodge, with all the comforts of a furnished interior. Inside each you'll find bunk beds, a double bed and cupboard beds to sleep six, with the toasty warmth of a stove and running water.
Inside is your cool chest, handy equipped kitchen area with all you could need and comfy sofa. Outside is a stretch of decking with a canopy and a BBQ, as well as an outdoor shower!
Home to a herd of more than 100 dairy cows, friendly pygmy goats, piglets and Shetland ponies, the site offers tractor rides and the opportunity to feed the calves or ride the ponies.
Dogs are welcome.
The safari tents include their own private facilities. The site also offers an honesty shop where guests can enjoy farm fresh pasteurised milk and flavoured syrups.
The Harbour Inn is within a 10 minute drive.

A note from the site themselves...
Chloe and Gavin will welcome you to Balnab farm with open arms and would love to share their knowledge of dairy farming with you. Their 120-strong herd of Holstein Friesians provide milk for the 'seriously strong cheddar' brand and they offer fresh farm milk with flavoured syrups on-site too, something you'll be welcome to try when you stay with them.

FAQ
What time is check-in and check out at Balnab Farm?
Arrival is between 4pm and 6pm. If you expect to arrive later than this, please do inform the farmer as there is no on-site reception. Check out is 10:30am unless a late checkout has been pre-booked and agreed.
Does Balnab Farm allow dogs?
Yes, a maximum of 2 dogs per accommodation is allowed. Dogs must be kept on the lead at all times while on the farm and can not be left behind in the accommodation
Can I bring a travel cot to Balnab Farm?
Yes. You can fit a travel cot in the accommodation. You can also hire one from the site for a small fee. Due to limited space, only one cot per lodge is allowed.
Wouldn't it be too cold to stay on Balnab Farm during spring and autumn?
The wood-fired stove inside of the accommodation will keep it warm and cosy. It is important to regularly add some wood. During the night, the site would recommend bringing warm pyjamas and perhaps some extra blankets and a hot water bottle.
Where can I charge my phone at Balnab Farm?
Should you have to charge your phone during your stay, it will be possible to do so in the farm shop.
Things to do on site and in the Newton Stewart area
The site offers plenty to keep you busy. Whether you want to learn all about the farm taking the farm tour and a tractor ride or feed the cows and ride the ponies. There is also ample space for ball games and a play ground for kids.
The Scottish coast is a must see. With stunning beaches at Rigg Bay or Garleston within 10 minutes you'll be sure to see some stunning scenery.
Isle of Whithorn is a quaint little fishing nearby with a small harbour and a couple of tearooms - a lovely place for coastal walks.
