Vessons Camping has just 25 private and well spaced pitches within 80 acres of Shropshire countryside. It's the perfect welcoming place to relax - with a laidback approach and few rules. Neighbours are far away and unlikely to bother you! Lovely country views are available from this base in the Shropshire Hills and it's only 30 mins drive to Shrewsbury or an hour to charming Ludlow. Pub within a five minute drive, too.

An 80-acre site with stunning countryside views of the Shropshire Hills

Almost wild camping with spacious and secluded pitches, over 50 metres apart

Welcoming owners with fire pits available - perfect for nights in the open!

About Vessons Camping

Here you'll find an almost wild camping experience in a rural spot, without tarmac roads leading to pitches, but instead with access by driving across the fields. Top views and a very secluded feel await. Grassed pitches without electric are provided for both tent campers and smaller VW style campervans. No fear of noisy neighbours - there'll be a minimum of approximately 50 metres between all pitches! There is a separate four-acre field for families with young children, which proves very popular. Ground campfires and fire pits are welcome, and you can also bring something delicious along to BBQ for dinner! Nothing is too much trouble for your hosts, who will fill your empty water bottles each morning and bring them to your pitch! You can park by your pitch, and the team's farm vehicles are on hand to help if you run into any trouble with the weather.

Vessons Camping is open from 19/05 to 29/09.

A note from the site themselves...

After starting the campsite back in 2019, my passion is stronger than ever I absolutely love what I do, meeting new people and introducing them to our unique approach to camping! It's the amount of space we give between pitches we don't need rules or curfews or to worry about next door snoring all night as they are too far away for you to hear!

We try to offer a four-star service in a field, nothing is too much trouble for us to enhance your stay. You can relax and soak up our amazing scenery and benefit from the incredibly powerful therapeutic effect of the true nature experience we offer, if you are stressed before you get here you won't be when you leave.

We look forward to welcoming back the increasing number of campers that become regulars, often booking their favourite pitch for a selection of dates throughout the season.

I look forward to meeting you,

Nigel

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan PitchesApr 2023

Nigel is a very friendly and attentive host and we had everything we needed! The wood is reasonably priced and delivered to you, and water was just a short walk from our pitch, however there is a morning water delivery should you need it which is great. We had the pleasure of such stunning views thanks to Nigel's determination to get us up the hill when our campervan decided to play up! Not to forget the fun we had on the way back down! The stars at night are amazing! Our dog is very nervous around people and other dogs so this was a great place for us to take him as there is plenty of space between pitches. We took a lovely walk into the town, admiring the beautiful views, streams, cattle, sheep, wild birds and horses, a truly peaceful experience. We would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back to explore more of the land we didn't get to on our 2 night stay as there's sooo much of it!

Site's response

A review as good as this one gives me a warm feeling and makes all the effort we put into providing a unique camping experience with a strong connection to nature and privacy between pitches very well worth it. Other clients have said it's like having your own secluded garden in stunning countryside for your stay. It was a pleasure to meet this couple and we shared a few good laughs. They left having gained new experiences which clearly enhanced their stay with us. I look forward to seeing them again. Nigel
