About Moss Lane Cottage Camping

A small and laid-back campsite near the picturesque village of Hanmer, home to the large Mere (lake) for open water swimming. It's ideally located on the Welsh border in the Shropshire countryside, just a 15 minute drive to several towns such as Whitchurch and Ellesmere. Spread over two and a half acres, the site has two secluded fields for camping and touring with simple facilities, including a communal building with a fridge. VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

The campsite was brill. We were in the bottom field and there was loads of space for everyone as there are only six pitches on the field. The undercover communal area is a great resource with toasters, kettles and fridges. We bought some local eggs, had a 50p ice cream from the freezer and had a game of darts, what’s not to love. A lovely site in a lovely area. Thank you x

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Lovely place to stay with very friendly people. A nice, quiet site with very clean facilities. Will be coming back again and yes, I do recommend if you like a much more peaceful campsite.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

We loved the quietness and location. Very kind owners. Very dog friendly. Bit disappointed that on arrival, they were starting moving sheep around and cut grass where we were supposed to pitch, but as it was quite windy we still wanted that spot for some shelter. We just felt it all could have been done before our agreed arrival time of 4pm. Also a large group started pitching up next to us which we could have been warned about so we could still reconsider where to pitch. Thankfully, it was a lovely bunch of young people and the noise was not too bad and stopped just after midnight. Only 2 showers/toilets so bit tricky when it is busy..
