About Esme's Escape

For mud free glamping, this space is between family houses and a secluded Somerset landscape and has all the glam touches that will keep you feeling comfortable in the countryside. The shepherd's hut has embraced its quirky history through a story of love during the war in this part of Somerset. The tale features young Esme, a Land Girl at the time and her fellow Fred. You'll get to know their story through the decorations and trinkets inside the hut. Step into the hut, filled with a timeless sense of the past and take in the smart kitchen area with all your cooking supplies. Cook up a classic (no rationing for you!) and eat with your other half in your cosy space. Curl up on your comfy double bed and take in the vintage decor and sense of a bygone love story. Then, fling open the front door to get gorgeous views of the twinkling stars. Relax in the hot tub and enjoy a pizza from the pizza oven. Even if the weather turns, you can cosy up by a warm stove or watch a DVD in your private nook.

Facilities in the shepherd's hut are self contained, including a shower and toilet inside with a set of towels, bathrobes and slippers. The hut also features a kitchen area with a hob, fridge and hot drink making supplies. There is also a pizza oven.

Things to do on site and in the Crewkerne area

Saunter outside of your secluded wartime world and keep the spirit of the Blitz alive with a game of cards, a round of boardgames or singing the songs that were popular at the time.

It's easy to reach The Liberty Trail, but The Parrett Trail is also close by for those who want to explore more. Dropping over to the pub will get you enjoying the flavours of the area and as you continue getting to know the area you'll only find more delicious options.

Crewkerne is a lovely local market town, packed with tasty treats and tempting places to shop and buy interesting items. The surroundings are stuffed with National Trust spaces such as Barrington Court in Ilminster or St Michael's Hill in Montacute, so you'll never be short of somewhere to explore.

A short drive of a little over a half hour will leave you on the South Coast, where it's all sun, seaside and great beaches. Weymouth and the Isle of Portland will get the good times started.
