We've been here several times now because this site is basically absolutely brilliant. Clean and well kept, with huge marked flat pitches all around the field edge (so you know you'll fit and there's no rush to 'bagsi' a decent space if you're arriving later). It's safe for the kids of all ages to play ball games in the middle of the field (but still in sight - from a distance!). The fridges/freezer access is great, they sell ice lollies and you can have a camp fire pit. And the customer service is fab. Camping the way it should be!

Site's response

Thank you Kate! Lovely to see all of you - and I'm still impressed with the children's bubbles :-) We look forward to seeing you all again - Beverley and Alan.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

My young daughter and I absolutely loved our stay here! It was totally relaxing and felt peaceful, even with all the children playing. Such a beautiful atmosphere with feel good vibes. Ideal for visiting the locals towns and villages, or just staying put! Sufficient facilities for the pitch capacity - even with a full camp we never had to wait to use anything. The toilets were always clean and well supplied, and the bins never overflowing. And the ground is beautifully maintained with thick, soft grass. The owners take great care of the site and their visitors. Oh and the ample, communal fridge and freezer space was a great relief. The facilities here really take the pain out of camping! I would highly recommend this site to those with young families. Even single parents like myself can enjoy a relaxed, painless stay here as pretty much the whole camp is in eyesight and you're only ever a few long strides away from the toilets! Only disappointment for us is that they're not open beyond early September and we'll have to wait until May for them to re-open - we truly just can't wait to go back there!!! :) This is now most definitely our preferred choice for staying in Somerset.

Site's response

Thank you Adelle! So pleased you both enjoyed it... we have a lot of single parents stay here / or parents with single children - and the children always meet other children and enjoy themselves. We look forward to seeing you both again :-) Beverley and Alan.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

We are a group of 6 (5 adults and 1, 10 year old girl) and stayed there over the Bank Holiday weekend for 3 nights. Despite the unstable weather, we had a brilliant weekend there. We booked 2 pitches for 3 tents. 2 of them were four-man tents, 1 was a small pup-tent. The pitches are completely flat and all located around the edge and the middle of field is empty for everyone to enjoy playing football or badminton. Facilities were all clean and they have toddler toilet seat attached on the all toilet, which I thought a nice touch. We had our fire pit with us, but they had some bricks to raise our firepit from the ground. They also sell logs for fire at £7.50 for a big bag. There are children's play area with two small huts where kids can go inside and play. My daughter particularly loved swings (well, it's just a normal swing) and she spent so many time there with her newly made friends. We visited Wells on the first day which is only 4 miles away. Wells is a beautiful city with magnificent cathedral. We joined the tour which takes about 1 hour and it was brilliant. We went to Chedder Gorge on the next day, which is about 30 minutes drive. We booked it in advance, but there is a discount ticket available at the campsite too. After checked out on the last day, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Burnham-on-Sea before heading back home. All experience was perfect apart from the beach, maybe because of the weather but the water looked very muddy and I couldn't bear to swim although my daughter didn't mind and enjoyed swimming.

Site's response

Thank you Saori for taking the time to write this and we're so glad you had a great time. All the children love it here - space for them in safe environment - and we're glad your daughter made friends :-) We look forward to seeing you again. Beverley and Alan.
