About The Hide Camping and Glamping
With its very own birdwatching facilities, this off-grid small camping and glamping site in Pembrokeshire encourages campers to embrace the wild.
The wooded area opens out into a peaceful field of spacious tent pitches. Each premium camping pitch has self-contained facilities comprising of an al fresco hot private shower, clean composting toilet, and fully covered kitchenette.
The site also offers standard camping pitches with easy access to shared facilities close by. These spacious designated mown pitches are located in a meadow and each pitch has its own garden area as well as lots of space on site to explore.
If you're more glamper than a camper, you'll be pleased to know that the site also offers two luxury geodomes for hire.
Furnished with a real, cosy double bed and two sofa beds (all made up upon arrival), the domes can sleep a maximum of four guests. Additional features include a covered kitchenette, fully kitted out with crockery, cutlery and pots and pans etc, a clean compost toilet and a hot shower.
A decking area comes complete with a picnic table, campfire and BBQ grill. You'll also be greeted with a welcome hamper and logs for your first fire. Additional logs can be purchased onsite.
In keeping with the off-grid vibe, the domes have solar lighting and fairy lights but no electricity sockets, so bring power banks for devices if necessary.
All of the camping pitches are provided with a picnic bench and campfire with a BBQ grill for the proper camping feel. The site does not allow vehicles on the camp field, there is a designated parking area close by. With very few pitches, you'll never feel crowded here.
Spend time in the bird hide for a chance to see woodpeckers, badgers snuffling around under the feeders after dark, or head to the beach just a few minutes walk away. In the evening, enjoy stargazing with minimal light pollution whilst sitting around your cosy campfire. Is it time to hide away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life?

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023
The Hide is one of the best campsites we've ever booked. It is in the most spectacular setting, with an unbelievable view of the ocean. The owners have laid it out superbly, with so much care and attention that there is nothing to fault. Each pitch is spaced out and has it's own little fire pit/BBQ and picnic bench. There is plenty of space to play badminton, have a kick around or play swing ball - all provided by the owners for the guests to enjoy.
The site is lovely and quiet and you can hear birdsong all day long. The owners have built a bird hide in front of their bird feeders, so you can also enjoy the feeding frenzy during daylight hours. Showers are hot, compost loos are clean and the washing up area is undercover.
It only takes 10 minutes to walk down to the lovely little bay, which is the perfect spot for an early morning dip or late afternoon swim. Whilst we had quiet a bit of rain during our stay, the evenings were sunny, so the stroll and swim in the bay was the perfect way to end each day before heading back to the site for a hot shower and a BBQ.
We can't recommend this site enough and will be back for sure.
Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful campsite.

We just had the most perfect 2 week holiday camping at the Hide as a family of 4! It is a beautiful, peaceful, nature-filled spot. There are 3 adjoining fields interspersed with woods and hedges - one for glamping in bell tents, one for camping and one for campervans. We opted for one of the 'deluxe' pitches, which gave us our own incredibly useful and cosy open wooden shelter for cooking and food storage, together with a lovely, hot gas-fired shower and our own compost loo in a small wooden hut. Loads and loads of space in each and every pitch - also including a picnic table and fire pit which we used every night for marshmallows and grilling. For guests who choose not to go for a deluxe pitch, there are still compost loos and showers easily reached within 50 meters.
Every evening we heard a tawny owl pair calling (shrieking!) to each other and we all spent some calm time bird watching in the Hide itself. The wildlife pond is a lovely place to sit and watch nature. We sat on the bench overlooking the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast (you are only a field away from the cliffs) most nights to watch the sunsets. The skies are incredibly dark with the Milky Way coming out on clear nights, there's almost no sound - it's bliss. We all felt completely relaxed.
Loads and loads to do nearby - we explored the coastal path from the campsite in both directions, most of the nearby beaches (they are all incredible), paddleboarded on Traeth Llyfn, surfed in Aber Mawr, coasteering in Abercastle, foraged in St. David's, fished for mackerel and pollock off St Justinian, took the boat trip out to Skomer island, watched seals, seal pups and porpoise off Strumble Head, ran round Dinas Island, had fish and chips in Porthgain (twice), went to the Fishguard Aberjazz festival and drank a lot of flavoured Morfa milk from the 24 hour milk vending machine in a barn by the side of the Fishguard-Newport road a couple of mins away. Tops tips - local beaches Aber Bach (10 mins walk) and Pwll Gwylog (25 min walk) are both unbeatable at low tide with a calm sea.
Thank you Jemma and Geraint for all your kind attention whilst we were there and for creating such a perfect 'green' campsite - clearly a lot of hard work and love has gone into making it.
We will be coming back!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2023
The owners are very friendly and helpful. There was a storm coming in and they set us up in most sheltered patch possible.
Toilets really clean, showers hot, clean and really good quality. Beautiful views and close to beach and it was nice to have a private picnic table and firepit. There was also no light pollution.
Great campsite with lots of space and not many other pitches.
