The site is four miles from the pretty market town of Devizes, which you can get to by taking a bus from the stop near the site or walking along the refurbished canal towpath, passing the 29 locks in the Caen Hill flight on route. A number of attractions are nearby, including Bowood House and Gardens, which has an adventure play area and soft play palace for youngsters. Non-members welcome.
