What a location! Ideally placed for Coniston Water, Coniston Sports and Social Centre is centrally located in the Lakes with access to a host of attractions. Great for groups, families and Duke of Edinburgh outings, the camping area can be hired exclusively along with a function room and sports fans will be able to work up a sweat with classes, football and tennis.
Only half a mile from Coniston Water, or 20 minutes from iconic Windermere - the adventures are all around. As you're within the outskirts of Coniston itself, you're also walking distance from local amenities. Camping for groups is available on a grassed area, when hired exclusively. It suits those on cycling tours, outdoor challenges etc. If you're bringing your own tourer, you can park up on hardstanding and may also be able to access a grass pitch - be sure to contact the site in advance.
Tent camping is available from the 15th of May to the 1st of September. Hardstanding pitches for tourers are available all year round.
Grass pitches are available for exclusive use by groups or for individual tourers (with prior permission).
Tourers can pitch up on the hardstanding outside the centre.

Unfortunately Coniston Sports and Social Centre doesn't share their availability calendar with us yet. Availability changes quickly, especially in summer, so we recommend enquiring by phone to avoid missing out.
Take advantage of your base to get involved with football, tennis and more. You can also relax in the bar with a cold drink, access to a pool table and a sunny patio where you can while the time away.
Coniston Water is a fantastic day out, the third largest lake in the district. Take lovely walks amongst the fells, uncover the National Trust's Peel Island and set sail on a steam yacht. Be sure to have a leisurely browse of Brantwood or the Ruskin Museum too.
