On the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and tucked away in the Washburn Valley, Breaks Fold Farm Glamping and Camping is a quiet and rural camping and glamping site. It is home to grass camping pitches suitable for tents only as well as glamping options too. The site is situated halfway between Harrogate and Skipton, offering an excellent location for exploring plenty of local attractions.

What a find! We have spent the last two weekends here. A rural, peaceful stay with great walks on the doorstep. The owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. It was great for our dogs as there was plenty of room per pitch and ALL dogs have to be on leads. Never seen them so chilled out whilst camping. At one point we were the only tent on site! Fire pits available for £12. The amount of wood is ample for a two night stay. BBQ also allowed. The toilets/ showers are the best I've seen on a campsite. More like an en suite! Other facilities include plenty of hot water for washing up, fridges and freezer to use. Even the drinking water was good! Thanks to Richard, the owner, for the conversations during fire pit rounds and for getting our car started due to a flat battery. No doubt at all that we will be returning!

Large Tent - Grass Camping PitchesAug 2022

Amazing location, close to a lot of attractions. This was one of the best campsites I have been to and will be returning. The owners are friendly and helpful. They know the area's attractions well. 2 camp fields, the over flow field is flat and the other field is a slight slope. 4 ladies toilets and 2 separate ladies shower rooms with toilets (mens is the same), all extremely clean. 3 washing areas, 1 outdoor and 2 indoor which were always clean. 1 fridge freezer and separate fridge. Clean and practically empty for our entire stay. Also has a vending machine with chocolates and crisps. Fire pit with logs is £12. Big bag of logs. No further charge for the fire pit, and logs are £10 for additional nights. Animals are a bit loud at night but it was better than listening to the hustle and bustle in the city. I have a 4 and 7 year old child, neither woke up to the sounds. Worth saying that there is no internet unless you come out of the farm and go 150 meters towards the Harrogate sign. I enjoyed life with no tablets or mobile phones.

Great family trip away

Medium Tent - Grass Camping PitchesAug 2022

We went to Breaks Fold Farm with our 3 year old and 1 year old. The site was in a peaceful, remote location at the same time as being close enough to a range of activities by car. 20 - 30 minute drive will get you to many different things. There was also basic wifi available. The owners/staff on the farm were helpful and available when needed. There was a large variety of pitches to choose from, with a good amount of space on each. We could easily fit our 4 man tent, car, wind breaks, table and chairs with a good amount of room to spare. The toilet block, showers, and dish washing facilities were kept very clean. A more experienced camper on the site described them as the cleanest facilities they'd ever used. We also enjoyed the fire baskets, which were good value for money. The little climbing frame was enough to entertain our children while we cooked food and sorted dishes etc. All in all we would definitely use this campsite agian if we were to stay in the area. Suggested activities = Billy Bob's Parlour, Burnsall village with river to paddle/play in, Fountains Abbey, Bolton Abbey, Hesketh Farm.

Lovely family break away

Medium Tent - Grass Camping PitchesAug 2022

We booked this short trip as first time campers with our 3 kids - 15, 11 and a 5 year old - just to get a taste of a tech free break and had a great time at Breaks Fold Farm. The campsite was clean and spacious. The owners were nice and helpful. The facilities are really good and clean. There are lovely walks all around and we definitely will invest in a bigger tent for next year and a longer camping trip. Feeling refreshed 😊 Thanks

Lovely site and very friendly

Really nice site with lots of space. Perfect for families and couples. Plenty of shady areas in the hot weather and facilities were great. Very clean and very friendly staff. Very close to a lovely walk around the reservoir, would stay again.

Small Tent - Grass Camping PitchesJul 2022

Location is brilliant, just in the heart of Nidderdale. If you cycle there, just beware of few nasty hills on your way. Hosts provide fire pits. Showers and toilets are spotless. There is good quality WiFi. Only "shop" is a vending machine with sweets, which likes to swallow the coins (doesn't work with card). I'd rather have some local produce available there.

Site's response

Thanks for the lovely review. Yes those hills are fairly challenging on foot and by bike, hence why the challenging roads are used for some of the big cycle races. We used to have a small shop, but unfortunately it was not financially viable as a small family run business to have somebody sat there all day. Hope to see you again sometime.

Great weekend away

Great campsite tucked away in a beautiful spot with amazing soft grass for the tent and our kit. Facilities were new and clean and all worked brilliantly - we couldn't have asked for a better place to camp for a long weekend.

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherds HutsJun 2022

The Shepherd's hut is very cosy and has excellent facilities. The shower and kitchen were spotless. It's in a good location to visit Grassington and Hebden. Lovely view of the meadow from the decking. Didn't use the hot tub but it looked great.

Medium Tent - Grass Camping PitchesJun 2022

Lovely campsite, situated between Skipton and Harrogate. Very good, lovely clean facilities. Just disappointing to be woken up to fireworks at 10:45pm very close the campsite.

Site's response

Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry about the the fireworks, it was nothing to do with us (it was a property located up the road), but one of us did go up and tell them to stop as it was totally unexpected with no warning and was totally unacceptable. I can assure you this is not a usual thing to happen out here in the peaceful countryside and was a one off (due to the Jubilee). I hope you do come and stay again.

Medium Tent - Grass Camping PitchesMay 2022

Friendly farming family-run campsite who offer to help with any problems. Spotless facilities and the first time I have been on a farm site that offers broadband and freezers! Would especially recommend if you like wildlife and the sound of Curlews.

Site's response

Thanks for the great review. We've done our very best to put in useful facilities for campers and we pride ourselves on having clean facilities. Hope to see you again.

Excellent site, lovely owners. Best shower block I've ever used with your own personal space of sink toilet and shower.
