About Camping Pod Heaven
Set in the peaceful village of Abriachan, yet only a short drive from the bustle of Inverness, this site offers the best of both worlds. A superb base from which to start the renowned North Coast 500 or stop along national walking route the Great Glen Way. Guests need to bring everything needed for camping (minus the tent and mattress) for these pods, but can skip all the hassle of pitching. Plus, they'll have the ultimate luxury of lighting, heating and solid cosy shelter to make their stay extra special. If you forget any gear, the site have bedding and kettles for hire. The pods are insulated and include a lockable door, and look over breathtaking mountain views. Sorry, no pets allowed.
Camping Pod Heaven is open from 01/02 to 31/10 in 2024 and from 01/02 to 30/08 in 2025.

Pods sleep up to four, and feature a mountain view, plus a private entrance along with 6amp electric sockets, heating and lighting. Inside is one double and four single camping mattresses to choose from. Please bring your own bedding and towels. No dogs.

Things to do on site and in the Inverness area
The surroundings are wonderful for cycling, hiking and canoeing. There are three harbours from which you can take a cruise on Loch Ness within 10 miles of the site.
Dolphin cruises can be taken from Inverness or Cromarty.
The Glen Affic National Nature Reserve is just a short drive away, at Plodda Falls. T
he site is a good base for taking a drive all the way round Loch Ness some of the most wonderful views of the Loch can be seen from Dores and Fort Augustus, and has its own garden, great for strolls and unwinding in nature.
Within just over 10 miles, you'll find the dramatic shape of Urquhart Castle, a fun outing for history buffs. Eden Court Theatre and Inverness Castle are both just 25 minutes' drive away and will help you understand the local culture.
For a taste of Scotland's most famous battle, Culloden Battlefield is 18 miles away and will bring to life the turmoil of the Jacobite Rising. Or, if you fancy exploring a more modern day mystery, five minutes in the car will have you at Loch Ness spotting Nessie.
