About The Shepherd's Loft

Providing an idyllic stop off in quiet Shropshire countryside, this traditional and family run farm is home to touring pitches and a luxury glamping shepherd's hut. First established by their grandparents, the family have been Frodesley farmers for more than 120 years. Stop off to admire the dark skies here and finish the day sitting under the stars from your pitch or the hut. Eight touring pitches cater to campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Each give plenty of space, measuring 7m x 5m, with grass adjacent to the hardstanding too. Access to electric and shared facilities. A well behaved dog is welcome, provided they are kept on a lead, if touring. Sorry, no dogs are allowed in the shepherd's hut. Why not book a welcome hamper to greet you on arrival? Includes sausages, free-range eggs, locally sourced and organic milk, rolls, cheese bites, and a couple of Shropshire Ales too! (non alcoholic alternative also available).

Touring pitches are open from 29th March and the shepherd's hut is open from 20th May.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesSep 2023

Lovely, peaceful campsite. We wanted a place to stay that was near Church Stretton and had the bare essentials, i.e. toilet, shower. This is exactly what we got. There is also electric, but we didn't need it. Clean facilities, and run by a lovely family who said hello and then left us in peace. Perfect.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesSep 2023

Enjoyed 3 nights here, a peaceful site with lovely views. Nice big pitches, welcome on arrival. We came for fishing but there was only carp in the pond and it was very difficult to catch.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesSep 2023

Warm and friendly welcome by the owner on arrival, showing us our pitches. Nice rural location on a working farm, level pitches and spacious toilet and shower. Had two days fishing the lake, there's good size carp in there, but hard to catch. Managed to get three the first day. But no luck last day. Plenty of sheep and a walk through the farmyard to get to the pond. Had a nice relaxing stay. Enjoyed all the wildlife finishing off with a drive-by vintage rally.
