About Rake Meadows

This is an ideal location for retail therapy, entertainment, dining out and even city sightseeing. It's the closest camping location to Cheshire Oaks and there's no car required as you can easily walk. For tents, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes, there are a total of 20 non electric grass pitches. Each allows up to five guests, with no set markings, but plenty of space for everyone to spread out. If touring in the winter, there is also an electric hardstanding pitch available. Set on gravel, the pitch allows campervans and motorhomes only with up to four guests, ideal for those wanting to escape the crowds. There's a paddock stretching over an acre and a set of horses gently grazing nearby. Popular with wildlife and birdlife, a sheltering edge of trees and hedges around the site helps it feel secluded. Conveniently based just off the A5117, though some road noise is possible. For evenings in the open, bring along the BBQ and cook up dinner al fresco, just make sure it is raised from the ground. Campfires are prohibited. Four-legged friends are also welcome to join you for your stay, with up to two allowed per pitch. Please note, breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted.

The grass pitches are available May to mid September, the hardstanding pitch is available mid September to April.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities are simple with portable toilets onsite which can also serve as an Elsan point and are emptied regularly. Please note, there are no showers and there's no formal chemical disposal point.

The site is next door to the Rake Hall pub. Also a five minute walk away is the Lime Tree Farm Shop and Old Hall Farm pub.

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Ideal for a stop off in the campervan while in the area. Literally a peaceful field with two port-a-loos by the stables. There is no lighting if setting up after hours of daylight and no electric. Situated walking distance to two pubs, Sainsburys and Outlets!

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Ideal location as we were meeting friends in the pub next door. Did not explore the area, but seemed a good location for the Cheshire Oaks.
