The site makes a perfect base for a walking, cycling or relaxing holiday in the Lake District. The site is divided into two distinct areas of touring pitches - The Oval and Walker Park - and includes a selection of hardstanding pitches with electric. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all welcome. For those looking to go glam there are a set of safari tents which sleep six and include furnishings and beds to ensure your break is hassle free. Non-members welcome.

It is ideal for water sport lovers, as you can hire canoes, kayaks, sailing dinghies, windsurfers and rowing boats at Derwentwater Marina, where you can also take part in taster or refresher courses in sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, ghyll scrambling, rock climbing and raft-building.
The town of Keswick is a two-minute walk from the site, and offers a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as the Cumberland Pencil Museum, Keswick Mining Museum and the Puzzling Place, an exhibition based on optical illusions. You can also take the Keswick Launch around Derwentwater, with discounted tickets available from site reception.
Other nearby attractions include Castlerigg Stone Circle, Honister Slate Mine - which features an exciting Via Ferrata - and Go Ape! at Whinlatter Forest.
