The Swan Caravan and Camping welcomes you and your four legged friend to beautiful Redmire, North Yorkshire, where the site has been running for the last 34 years. Set right in the heart of Wensleydale, everything the wonderful countryside has to offer is right on hand. The campsite itself is a level, well maintained field, that can accommodate up to 30 pitches, with staff careful to avoid the chance of overcrowding.
About The Swan Caravan and Camping
Swan Caravan and Camping Site is a well established, family run campsite, located in a North Yorkshire quaint village. The village of Redmire itself is a stone's throw away, boasting a great village shop, and a fantastic local pub. Bolton Castle is but a short walk, as is the spectacular Aysgarth Falls. Plus the many other great walking and cycling routes around all of Wensleydale are easily accessible. The current owners are Jayne and Robert Foster, who also live onsite, so are always on hand to oversee the things, provide information about the local area, as well as manage any issues.
The site is open from February half term until the end of the October half term.
Site facilities include a fully fitted shower block with four toilets, four washbasins and two showers with hot and cold water. There is a separate kitchenette with two sinks and a fridge freezer. Pitches have access to an Elsan point and water points. You'll find security lights around the whole campsite and a resident onsite manager.

Site rules and policies
Check in from 2pm on day of arrival. Flexible arrival and departure times are available.
Check out is normally 11am - however if you want to stay longer, then just let us know and we will try to accommodate you as best we can.
Units should not be less than 6 metres from any other unit.
Vehicles do not exceed 5mph on the field.
All dogs must be kept on lead and under control.
No unnecessary noise on the campsite between 10pm - 8am.
No open fires - barbecues should be sited with care on a block - not directly on the grass.
Things to do on site and in the Leyburn area
The Swan offers a base for many activities and events going on around Wensleydale. There are lots of great walking and cycling routes in and around Wensleydale, much of which starts right on your very own doorstep.
Local attractions start within a mile of the site with Bolton Castle perched on the hill behind. Bolton Castle is one of the country's best preserved medieval castles, originally built as one of the finest and most luxurious homes in the land, the castle bears the scars of over 600 years of fascinating history.
The castle is still in the private ownership of Lord Bolton, the direct descendant of the castle's original owner Sir Richard le Scrope. It holds daily events, including reenactments, falconry displays, workshops and wild boar feeding, perfect for a family trip out.
Setting off from the railway station located in Redmire, the Wensleydale Railway is a rural railway line that passes through market towns, small villages, woodland and farmland, offering a great day out in some of England's most beautiful countryside. Events including an afternoon tea train and the ale train take place throughout the summer, so it's worth keeping up to date with their calendar.
The Forbidden Corner, located very near Redmire, is home to a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises created within a four acre garden in the heart of Tupgill Park and the Yorkshire Dales. A tourist attraction unlike anywhere that you have been before, it's ideal for adventurers and those young at heart!
The Wensleydale Creamery, based at Hawes, is home to the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese and a popular visitor centre, which provides a place to sample the various cheeses, see how they're produced and have a bite to eat in the restaurant or cafe.
