Haltwhistle Club Site is in a clearing of Bellister Wood, once the property of Bellister Castle Estate and now managed by the National Trust - so you're likely to be sharing your pitch with a large variety of birds, including woodpeckers.
Haltwhistle town is full of history, and contains a 12th century church, a peletower - now a hotel - and five other Bastle Houses (defensible houses) from its Border Reiving past. You can also enjoy the local countryside on the Haltwhistle Rings, a series of 22 local walks. Other local activities include the South Tyne Trail, part of the National Cycle Network, half a mile from site, and fishing is possible in the River Tyne for those with a rod licence. Non-members welcome.
Open from 1 April to 31 October
