Family camping

It's not a holiday without the furry and beloved friend and dogs are immensely at home in the outdoors - just think of all those fantastic walks! So we've gathered  a few tips on finding a spot that welcomes your pampered pooch so that he can enjoy all the fun of camping right along with you.

Can I take my dog camping with me?

In a word: yes! Many campers enjoy great holidays with man’s best friend and there are so many dog friendly campsites across the UK.

Any tent will be suitable for your dog, provided that your pooch's nails are not sharp enough to scratch or cause damage - a quick clip before you leave should sort that out. Rough nails could result in rips and tears.

Make sure you always check with individual campsites for their rules on pets, as some may require your dog to stay on a lead on site. Bring plenty of disposable bags too, as anything your dog does while camping, you should pick up.

Where can my dog sleep?

If you feel your dog is one of the family, a warm spot in the bedroom compartment could be the safest option - no chance of any great escapes, then! Most campers choose to keep their dog zipped in with them at night for security.

I was trying to find a site where I can take a tourer onto a site and leave it there. I would hope they would store it over winter and over the season I could just go to it as and when I wanted to. I am willing to pay an annual site fee to include electric and gas. Can you advise as I am a novice in this area
