Glamping in a cabin

Our favourite glamping accessories revealed

Glamorous camping, or glamping for short, is a perfect way to delve into the outdoors without all the hassle and mud. This easy alternative is great for all ages and has grown in popularity over the years. As a result, plush glamping sites have sprung up all around the beautiful British landscape.

Accommodation choices range from yurts and pods to treehouses, shepherd's huts and glamping domes or why not check out glamping with hot tubs too? We even have a page showcasing the most luxurious glamping sites...

One reason many holidaymakers choose glamping is because you can enjoy all the comforts and mod cons of home in the great outdoors. If you are thinking about glamping for the first time, you may feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff that you could take with you. With so many glamping accessories now on the market, we have compiled a list of our favourite comforts to give you a little inspiration.

Bunting

Make every meal colourful and playful with strings of classic bunting hung between a few trees or around the side of your tipi or tent.

Lighting

One of the best perks about many glamping spots is the on-site electricity.

If you can, connect up some fairy lights to weave around the campsite for a cosy atmosphere. Try using a few solar-powered outdoor lights as an eco-friendly way to illuminate your surroundings. Tripping over tent pegs and strings in the middle of the night will become a thing of the past!

Although they may look pretty, candles and tea lights are still pretty dangerous while in an outdoor setting so you should seek out these electricity-based alternatives.

Pillows

Keep neck cramps and uncomfortable nights at bay with some plush pillows. Many holidaymakers like the familiarity of their own pillow while away for a great night’s sleep.

Rugs

After exploring the local area, a great way to finish off the day is by kicking off those muddy shoes and resting your feet on a soft, cosy rug. Add a splash of colour to your little glamping nest with a bright, jewel coloured rug or throw.

Ceramic tableware

Why spoil a top-notch meal with a load of flimsy paper plates and plastic cutlery? Dine in style with a few proper plates and bowls and indulge in a bit of after-dinner hot chocolate in some chunky mugs.

Tablecloth

Choose a pretty tablecloth to accompany your tableware. Although you can be a little frivolous when picking out glamping accessories, opt for a practical tablecloth material such as PEVA and avoid cloth-like materials such as flannel which will just soak up any spills.

Seating

Rather than uncomfortable and scratchy plastic seats, you could invest in a few colourful deckchairs with a bit of padding to rest sore muscles.

An outdoor stove

Although glampers like the more refined things in life, sometimes you want to get back to nature. While some glamping sites have kitchens to prepare gourmet meals during your trip, you may feel like getting back to basics with a traditional camp stove and a can of beans and sausages.

Blankets

Blankets are an essential item during any camping trip as nights can be chilly even in the height of summer. Splash out on an electric blanket or lots of thick, wool blankets to make your glampsite even cosier.

An elevated food selection

Pack a luxurious hamper to make your meal times a little more special. Celebrate a week away from work in style with a nice bottle of wine, whisky or even champagne. Start or finish a gourmet main with a full cheese board and a few grapes on the side.

Hammock

Ah the humble hammock, so simple yet so luxurious! Not only is a hammock one of our favourite glamping treats, but it is also easily set it up at home in the back garden to continue your long, lazy days in the sun.

Glamping is a luxurious alternative to traditional camping. We hope you find these glamping accessories both useful and delightful during your glamorous holidays across the country.
