Nice and clean, although the nesting crows were a pain!
Site's response
Many thanks for the review and apologies about the Rooks. They seem to be nesting right now and making a little bit more noise than usual. We hope that you did have a good stay at the campsite anyway and hope to see you again.

First time at this site and our first impression was how clean and modern it was. The site had everything you needed; clean, warm toilet, shower block, peaceful with a great surrounding... Thank you!

You couldn't ask for cleaner, or more modern services at a campsite. Everything has been well considered and catered for. The washing facilities, toilets and showers are spotless. There was always hot water, and we loved the fresh milk/coffee vending machines. The only thing that stopped us from getting a good night's sleep was the noisy rooks! But cannot fault the site itself. Ask for a pitch at the front or west of the site, if the rooks might disturb you. First class.
Site's response
Many thanks for your review and glad that you will return to stay with us again, in spite of the rooks sometimes getting a bit noisy. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over the rooks!

Very clean shower rooms, good location, regular bus service to Weymouth to the East or West Bay or a nice walk along the old railway track in to Abbotsbury.

Good clean facilities, nice area to explore, onsite milk machine is good idea, and local (dog friendly) pub, the Kings Arms, is highly recommended for a meal. Our only minor criticisms would be that site seems a bit soulless and there isn't enough toilets for the capacity of the site. Those are really minor points though and didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.

Lovely campsite, only stayed for 1 night. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean facilities. Quirky milk vending machine. Local pub within walking distance. Overall, a lovely stay.

A fantastic site in a beautiful little village with a nice little pub we used after going on some lovely walks. Great location for walks with Weymouth only 7 miles away. The staff were all very nice and very polite, and the site was very clean and tidy even at this time of year. Will definitely return to this site.

The site is quite a large site, however found the facilities to be quiet, possibly owing to the time of year, site generally was also pretty quiet, tidy site with all your needs for motor homes and caravans. Very clean facilities, a little out of the way possibly, but we had a bus travel pass so could pop into Weymouth and Lyme Regis, also Portland not far away. The location states on the edge of a village, which I suppose it is in some respects, one deli type shop and one pub is all you get though, however, there are some nice walks off the site.

Many thanks for the review. We hope that you will visit us again to explore more walks in the lovely countryside around Portesham and Dorset.

Lovely site with great dog walks around including a large field for the dog to run in. Was lucky enough to stay on a Wednesday when a local fish and chip van comes to the village. Delicious! The odd chip even thrown out for the waiting dogs! Will definitely revisit.

Whilst it was a convenient stop over, the pitches were tightly packed and the really poor facilities were a great disappointment. We will not be using the site again.

1st time to the area and 1st time to a fully serviced pitch, can't really fault anything about the site! It's location and the team that we came into contact with were great - have booked again for next year!

A group of 7 adults, 2 dogs stayed here. We were still in pandemic mode, but we had a great time. It was the first time we’d been together for months. The campsite has a lovely farm shop and cafe attached. We were there for what was probably the hottest week of the year so we were mostly outside. Lots of shops and hospitality were still closed but we did actually go in the sea! It’s a nice campsite and value for money.

Position was great for us as we tend to visit the whole area between Lyme Regis and Weymouth. Pitch was a great size and fully serviced which is a huge plus for us as both have health walking problems. However, the roadways are very basic, not tarmac or concrete but just compressed and quite uneven road chippings which gives the site an unkempt look and feel. Add in the temporary feel of the service blocks (think of the type of temporary slightly up market services provided for RHS shows etc) and it didn't quite add up to a totally pleasant stay. They are updating, particularly the reception, so we hope that within a couple of years, both these areas will have been addressed with better roads and a permanent shower/toilet block. If you're looking for a quiet stay in this area and don't mind the above issues then it's not a bad site, just needs updating a little.
