We only live in St Austell and wanted to stay somewhere local to experience camping for the first time with two young girls and we had the best time! Lots of walks to go on, beach nearby, takeaway, shops not too far away and lots of space to set up home for a few days 😊 Will definitely be back!

Beautiful views from site, good facilities but could do with a little updating. We have never seen a campsite mow right up to cars and tents and we felt this was slightly intrusive.

Nestled atop an exposed hill with breathtaking views. The location alone is worth the visit! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The well-maintained grass on our non-electric pitch added to the overall charm of the site, but I must admit that finding a perfectly flat spot for our tent was a bit of a challenge. On the downside, the showers left a bit to be desired. While they were clean and functional, the touch button system proved quite frustrating, as it shut off after just 30 seconds. This made the shower experience less relaxing than we would have liked. Another area that could use improvement was the toilet paper situation. It appeared to be the thinnest and cheapest variety, reminiscent of my primary school days. Upgrading the toilet paper would definitely enhance the overall comfort of the campsite. Despite these minor inconveniences, our overall experience was positive. This campsite offers a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, with friendly staff. I'd recommend this spot to anyone seeking a serene and scenic getaway, with just a few small suggestions for improvement in mind.

Lovely site with good views out to sea. All the grass pitches are sloping, so maybe worth paying for a camper pitch for more than one night.

Having visited Fowey many times in the last thirty years we have always rented a house in the town. Now, caravan owners, we felt the site's location most suited us and we were able to re-visit our favourite places. Good pitch sizes and great views, we'll definitely visit again next year.

Enjoyed Fowey and the area ...Penhale is nice and quiet. left to get on with it. The facilities were okay and loved the sweet peas and flowers in the Ladies...just really the showers 🚿 could do with working a bit longer than a few seconds, disliked shower curtains as well, not sure they are very hygienic these days.

Campsite was exactly like expected from descriptions and pictures. Short walk to the beach, about 15mins. First time using an electric pitch so it was an added bonus that we could borrow the hook up cable from reception.

Site location is good for the Fowey, Par and St Austell area. The 25 bus passes the site entrance and runs on a regular basis. Site facilities are tired but reasonably clean (it was a very wet week when we stayed). Shower and toilets block were not heated and there was no shop onsite. The early road noise can also be a nuisance.

Absolutely beautiful site. Stunning views, peaceful (apart from a large group of children in bottom field), clean, adequate facilities, attention to detail and fresh cut dahlias in the bathrooms. The pitches are huge! And private! We thoroughly enjoyed our break and walked into Fowey, Polridmouth for a swim, Polkerris for delicious food and just relaxed on camp. Perfect mini break, many thanks. We would definitely return again.

Absolutely stunning views and excellent base with all necessary, and well maintained, facilities! Perched on top of a hill overlooking a stunning bay, Penhale's slopes are a stunning location for your stay. It is a challenging 20 minute walk through the fields and down a loose dirt and stone path to beautiful Polkerris beach, which has pubs, restaurants and a harbour wall to dive off - plus a kayak and board hire place.

Very good stay. The general campsite for non electric pitches was a little on the slope but nothing too bad. Would go again. Great location for Fowey.

Lovely, quiet site. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Quite close to the main road and our pitch was literally next to the road so was a little noisy with the traffic. Nice park that our son loved. Would use again.

Great location for beaches and Fowey. It's all pretty automated when you arrive, no reception just a mobile number which is fine and it works. Pitches are terraced so you get the views over the bay, very well set out from that perspective and our spot was flat, although one or two vans were up on chocks/ramps for the perfect levelness, but they all looked level to me. The facilities are not new but are clean, well kept and with it being a larger site they did well to keep it that way - flowers in the toilets! Showers were auto-off with a very short 'on' period perhaps as they were getting on a bit in terms of age? Take a boot lace to cable tie to loop them on, but don't forget to remove it and not waste water! Overall a good site and I'll be back if we are in the area.

Very nice stay at this campsite. We would definitely visit again. Polkerris was within walking distance. I have to say it was easier getting there than coming back up hill, but very doable. Once you arrived you are greeted with a beautiful cove with shop, pub and restaurant there. Of course, the weather helped as it was hot. We were able to walk to Fowey on another day but we did get the bus back. The site is quite small which we liked and very clean. The toilets/ showers had fresh flowers in, which was a nice touch. All was very clean. The pitches you get are big. The view from ours was lovely and the price reasonable.

We enjoyed our stay at Penhale. Easy check in and nice, large well marked pitches. Lovely views of the sea. Could do with an additional hand dryer in the toilets as there is only one and at busier times, there were queues to dry your hands. Also the shower had to keep being turned on every five seconds, which made hair washing a challenge.
