Absolute beautiful surroundings, so many hikes & walks leaving direct from the campsite. Facilities were spotless the whole time we were there and the little shop sells most things you need and a hot coffee in the morning! Two pubs a 5 minute walk away, but make sure you book in advance if you want food as they get booked up quickly. No phone signal on site, but WIFI at reception. Beware the surrounding roads are very narrow, especially the road up to Wasdale Head! In good weather a swim at wast water lake is essential!

Lovely campsite, had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The shower and toilet facilities were always clean and had hot water. The location was perfect for us for climbing Scafell Pike. Pub was a few minutes walk away. Campsite was very peaceful and relaxing and all the other campers were friendly.

Had all the facilities you need. Was a bit crowded when I went but that's to be expected of a sunny weekend in summer.

Perfect stay. The site is perfectly located for walks, water sports, chilling and not too far from the coast. We had a quiet corner of a field for 5 days, with stunning views. The facilities are clean and never overcrowded and the reception offers basics. There isn't any phone signal but Wi-Fi is available free outside reception at all times. Pubs and coffee shops are also within walking distance. On the negative side, quiet time starts at 11pm which is quite late if you have noisy children/group near your pitch.

It was a great stay, although the shower pressure was not great during peak times. Location was perfect and added bonus of shops and pubs all on site (although we felt the pub was very expensive so bring your purse!)

The lady on reception was welcoming, very kind and she provided me with clear instructions. The toilet block was very clean and the site well marked, labelled and set out. Recycling was central and there were numerous taps with free water. I would readily recommend this site but sadly the night I stayed was spoiled by noise, a few groups of young lads in party mode made sleeping even at 1.30am difficult.

The campsite was in a great location with scenic views. The facilities were very clean and the kids park was also great. The kids had a blast and the owner were very friendly and accommodating. Seascale beach was a lovely place to visit with a great kids park. Muncaster Castle also isn't too far and is a great day out if you like birds of prey. My only gripe with the campsite, and it's not a big one, but the site wanted our second car to be parked on a car park. Although it wasn't far from our pitch, we wanted to be able to keep an eye on our car in an unfamiliar location, especially when we had zero reception. That's probably not something others would worry about but that is my thought process. Despite that, we were very pleased with our stay.

3 night non electric grass pitch in a 5 man tent. Really helpful team on arrival. Plenty of space to pitch, beautiful views and good, clean facilities. I would recommend to friends.

Cold showers, which we were not impressed by. We have stayed at many campsites over many years and not had cold showers. No apologies for broken/problematic showers.
