About Sandyholme Holiday Park
An ideal location for exploring Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. Enjoy days at the beach with Bowleaze Cove and Durdle Door within a 15 minute drive, or take the 20 minute drive down to Weymouth for some traditional seaside fun. Surrounded by nature reserves, rivers and scenic walking trails, the site is great for a peaceful stay. There are a total of 70 non electric pitches on offer, each around 9m x 9m, allowing both tents and tourers. All of the pitches allow up to six people, perfect for families. If you are in need of an electric hook up, there are also three electric 7m x 5m grass pitches with a 10 amp hook up, allowing tents, trailer tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans. Or, for campervans, caravans and motorhomes, there are two gravel 8m x 4.5m pitches with a 16 amp hook up. If you want to enjoy nature in style, the site also offers the choice of three types of bell tents. Two of these are unfurnished to give you the camping experience without needing a tent! A fire pit and bag of logs are included. One is pet friendly, the other is pet free. Or, for a bit more luxe on your holiday, choose the furnished bell tent. This comes equipped with a double bed and two single camp beds with electric, lighting and a heater provided. Outside the tent, you will find a picnic bench and fire pit equipped with logs. Sorry, no dogs. There are also three safari tents sleeping up to two adults and two children. These include a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a kitchen with an electric hob, fridge and kettle. Outside is a covered decking area, a fire pit and a bag of logs. Sorry, no dogs. Please note that linen is not provided in any of the glamping units. Glampers have access to the communal toilet and shower facilities. Dogs are welcome onsite, and there is even an exercise field for them to run around off the lead. Evenings can also be spent enjoying a BBQ, just please ensure it is raised from the ground. Please note, campfires are not allowed.

The toilet and shower block offers hot showers, hairdryers, toilets, a laundry room (extra cost), visitor information, washing up sinks and a freezer for ice blocks. There is also a play park, football and recreation field, EV charging and a lake with ducks and wild birds. For dogs, there is an exercise field where they can be off the lead. WiFi is free of charge.
A small onsite shop is stocked with essentials and local produce. Within a ten minute drive you will also find a selection of pubs including The Frampton Arms and The Black Dog.

Where to begin, it was perfect…. We have stayed at many campsites in our van and this has been our favourite to date!!! So easy to enter, no hassle. Field was freshly cut, and very very clean! Showers and toilets clean as your own. Very peaceful, lovely lake to walk around. Huge football field with permanent goals that me and my boy used a lot. Everything was just hassle free and a joy to stay there!!

We chose the non-electric pitch, which is in a grassy field. This was fine, but it wasn't entirely clear exactly where to pitch, so we just selected a spot and all was fine. The site is clean and quiet, and the facilities seem to be decent, although there is no lighting in the field, so a head-torch was required for the short walk to the toilet block at night. The only strange thing was that it was a completely 'contactless' stay - didn't see a staff member in the two days we were there. This wasn't a problem, but I don't know how things might have worked if we'd needed to ask a question (there is a reception hut but it was closed). Overall though, we were quite satisfied with our stay and if we return to the area, it would certainly be on our list.

Location was great and easy to find. Value for money is there considering the facilities are well maintained and very clean. The staff we came across were all lovely and chatty and as we went slightly off-season, the site itself was quiet and peaceful.

Things to do on site and in the Dorchester area
When the sun is shining, a trip to the beach is a must. You will be spoilt for choice here with Durdle Door and Bowleaze Cove both within a 15 minute drive!
For some traditional seaside fun, Weymouth is 20 minutes away. Here you will find a sandy beach along with a range of attractions like Weymouth Pavilion, Nothe Fort, Sea Life Weymouth, Weymouth Pirate Adventure Mini Golf and many more!
Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (15 minutes) is also great for a family day out. See these rescued and endangered primates swing around in their open air cages. Meet lemurs, spider monkeys, chimpanzees and a whole range of other charming animals.
