About Star Field Camping and Glamping

A peaceful, secluded site with a ten acre field of picturesque meadows, all kept natural to encourage wild surroundings. Just a five minute drive from Cranbrook town centre, you'll enjoy a peaceful retreat, whilst being in easy reach of all the amenities you could need. If you're choosing to pitch up your tent or park your campervan, there are 14 grass pitches located on a gentle slope in the main camping meadow, with shared facilities included gas-heated showers. Bordered by woodland you'll be surrounded by wildlife, whilst being protected from the wind. For those who prefer glamping, there are two unfurnished bell tents equipped with matting, a double bed and the option of two single futon beds (bedding required). For added comfort, there are also two furnished bell tents which come with the added extra of bedding, cooking equipment and a kitchen area with a cool box. All of the bell tents sleep up to two adults and two kids and have the comfort of their own private composting loo and shower. Outside is also a level decking area, fire pit/BBQ and picnic bench, great for nights of al fresco dining under the stars. There are also two luxury safari tents onsite, each accommodating up to five guests. Inside your fully furnished tent, you can find one double bedroom along with another room for three fitted with a double bed and a single bunk bed over the top, linen is also provided. In the living area there is a lounge with seating, along with a kitchen area fitted with a solar-powered hob and fridge and all of the utensils and crockery you will need. Outside is a deck area with a fire pit and camp chairs, along with your own private eco bathroom. Located on Charity Farm, you can say hello to the animals or visit the small onsite country store for freshly laid eggs from the hens that roam the site. It's the perfect place for a relaxing break, set close to a historic Kent town, Sissinghurst Castle and the pretty villages of Benenden and Goudhurst nearby. And of course, as the name suggests, don't forget to gaze at the stars. You're in for a treat on cloudless nights! Dogs are most welcome to join you on the grass pitches, in the unfurnished bell tents and safari tents, provided they are kept on a lead. Dogs are not allowed in the furnished bell tents, sorry.

Star Field Camping and Glamping is open from 24/05 to 28/09.

A note from the site themselves...

In 2018, we chose to open our gates and share the sanctuary we have tucked away behind our country store, a canvas of many happy memories for three generations of the Clarke family. We have been delighted to hear from so many of our guests that they too, experienced and valued the serenity of our natural farm, which will be filed away in their own memories.

Each year, we try to improve our site in some way, and each year we curse ourselves for setting such ambitious tasks. We currently have a range of units including 'The Tiny House', Safari Tents, Bell Tents (Dressed and Naked) as well as grass pitches. While we enjoy the challenge of new units, we are very conscious of keeping our site spacious and private as we believe these are two of our key assets.

Teaming up with The Greener Camping Club, we are focused on eco-friendly camping, that looks like composting loos, no electrical hook-ups, minimal light pollution, recycling facilities and unmanicured surroundings to help the wildlife thrive.

We have, however, listened to our campers, and last year we introduced The Power House - a container just off the camping field to charge your devices and refreeze your ice packs, so you're not completely without!

Bell Tent - Unfurnished Bell TentsJul 2023

A fantastic site, super relaxed feel, clean, great bell tents, and really nice to have our own toilet/shower. We stayed for 2 nights and all had a great time. Looking forward to returning again!

Large Tent - Grass PitchesAug 2023

An excellent site with well spaced apart pitches and good facilities- clean shower cabins and compost toilets which were well built and maintained. Solar lights above the washing up area where all the relevant information was displayed and suggested walks were marked on maps. The middle of the field was left to grow naturally which gave a great feeling of space and closeness to nature. An excellent farm shop and cafe on the farm nearby was very handy.

Great, chilled break

Just returned from a 3 night break with friends. We stayed in Thistle and Nettle. We have had a great break. The location was perfect, the site was peaceful and we enjoyed downtime from technology and the fast pace of life. Highly recommend.
