About Wigwam Holidays Charnwood Forest
This peaceful glampsite sits beside a small pond and is ringed by an attractive tree plantation. It's an ideal place to switch off and fully recharge in nature, yet a mere five minutes from the M1 or 20 minutes in the car from buzzing Leicester. Each of the six ensuite Wigwam pods has its own self-contained toilet and shower, along with a handy kitchenette area with all you need to make a light meal (sink, microwave, hob, fridge and kettle), and a table and chairs so that everyone can eat together as a family. Outside you'll find a fire pit where you can cosy up as the sun goes down. For an extra bit of luxury, why not book a pod with a hot tub, perfect for nights under the stars! A maximum of two dogs are welcome to join you in the pet friendly pod, just please ensure they remain on the lead. Campfires and BBQs are welcome in the provided fire pits, but must stay off the grass.
Wigwam Holidays Charnwood Forest is open from 01/04 to 30/11.
Facilities are ensuite and self contained within the glamping pods. There's no WiFi but the site does get good 4G signal. There are also electric vehicle chargers on the site.
The Fieldhead Pub is an easy 15 minute walk from site and is great for dinner. A five minute drive away are a couple of local food shops in Markfield.

Me and my partner had a really lovely time here. The owners of the site were so lovely, made us feel welcome and were always available to help. It's a really intimate and romantic site that's near a village (Bradgate) which is beautiful, with the national park, and the village has some excellent food available. Definitely would go again!

It was our first visit to the site, and we certainly weren't disappointed. The location is nice and peaceful and the pod was clean modern and well equipped. The owner, Clare, was very helpful and friendly and is always on hand to help with any issues. The honesty shed is a great idea for drinks and firewood etc. We will definitely visit the site again in the future.

We have just returned from our amazing stay at Charnwood Forest and we really cannot recommend this trip enough! We stayed in the Chestnut pod which was immaculate and includes everything you need for your stay. The site is perfectly located for some pub food or a scenic walk through the Bradgate Deer. We received a warm welcome from Steve who spent the time explaining all the facilities to us and recommended places to eat or visit during our stay. We also received a lovely goodbye from Clare who took the time out of her day to have a little chat with us as we were leaving. The tiny little details about this stay really didn't go unnoticed and we will definitely be returning again in the summer. Thank you so much to Clare and Steve for their hospitality and for such an amazing weekend away!

Things to do on site and in the Markfield area
Bradgate Park (15 minutes) offers more than 800 acres of beautiful parkland - with resident deer - close by and there's lots to tempt history buffs too. The site owners' own cottage was part of the Bradgate Estate and the estate was the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey - famously on the throne for just nine short days.
Leicester (20 minutes) is ideal for a day out, with lots of history and a fascinating royal connection - find out all about it at the King Richard III Visitor Centre. Maybe visit Abbey Park adjacent to the City Centre, relax on the green space or hire a rowing or pedalo boat and explore the boating lake.
