About Real Glamping at the Fir Hill
This historic 60-acre Cornish estate is the ideal spot for a luxury eco-friendly getaway in the great outdoors, visit as a couple, with your family or even a group, with exclusive site hire available as well as events and celebrations. Boasting scenic views over the Porth Valley and just 15 minutes away from Newquay. There are just 13 yurts onsite, with groups welcome. Four of the yurts sleep three with a double bed and a single bed, two of these are pet friendly. A slightly larger yurt, The Willow Dog, sleeps up to four with a king-sized bed and a double bed. The other eight yurts sleep up to six with a king-sized bed and two doubled. Three of these are pet friendly. The yurts are fully insulated with a 12mm thick layer of 100% sheep wool felt from Mongolia to keep guests cosy during winter and cool in summer. Each yurt is equipped with memory foam mattresses, a small dining table, soft furnishings, storage space for clothes, and a wood burner, apart from The Willow Dog yurt. Outside each yurt guests will find a private kitchen shelter as well as a fire pit with a BBQ grill and some seating to admire the views. Bedding is included in every yurt. Sustainability is at the heart of the site with all facilities running on eco-friendly principles without skimping on luxury. The site has a private supply of spring water, uses solar generated power and thermal stores for underwater heating and hot water. No need to worry about transporting your luggage, the site has buggies to help! Enjoy a drink or a sweet treat from the cafe, unwind in the Cowshed with games, comfy sofas and a TV. Or, when the sun is shining sit out on the sun terrace and cook up a storm on the BBQ! There are plenty of scenic walks from site, with the South West Coast Path nearby, your options are endless! Keen surfer? Take on one of Newquay's iconic surfing beaches and explore the quaint town for a vibrant atmosphere, then wash off all of the sand with the wetsuit wash! Each yurt has a private fire pit and there is a communal BBQ on the sun terrace. Dogs are welcome in the pet friendly yurts.

Each of the yurts have a private kitchen shelter with a gas stove, cool box, food storage facilities, pots and pans, tea and coffee-making facilities and running water for drinking or washing up. There is a larger communal kitchen in the main building too.
The renovated cowshed offers eight showers and loos and an undercover barn space to socialise and relax. Here there is WiFi, a TV and games. The site has a sun terrace, ideal for sunbathing with a covered BBQ area, outdoor seating and a water tank for rinsing wetsuits. Guests can BBQ themselves, or for groups over ten people you can arrange for the site to take over grill duty for an extra fee.
There is a cafe onsite for picking up a coffee or a snack, or the nearest pub is The Farmers Arms, a ten minute drive away. For picking up any essentials, there is a Morrisons which is also a ten minute drive from the site.

Things to do on site and in the Newquay area
Guests do not need to leave the estate, with its historic woodland to explore, take a peaceful stroll and spot some of the incredible wildlife that has made its home in the woodland or let the children make dens whilst you relax back at your yurt. The grounds also have a heritage of the Cornish mining industry, be sure to explore!
Host your group dinner on the sun terrace with the communal BBQ, or for large groups hire the site to cook your meal to give you a night off! Unwind in the Cowshed in front of the TV on the comfy sofas or get your competitive side out with some games.
Porth Reservoir (10 minutes) is within easy reach for keen anglers, or for golfers there are plenty of excellent courses in the area, including Treloy Golf Club (5 minutes). Walkers have plenty of options, surrounded by the Cornish countryside and within easy reach of the scenic South West Coast Path.
A visit to Newquay is not complete without a surfing trip, or two! As the UK's surfing capital, you would be missing out if you spent your whole break on land, with popular beaches like Fistral and Perranporth Beach on your doorstep.
