About Sunnyhill Park Campsite

This peaceful site sits between the town of Wincanton and the village of Bruton. With Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire at your feet, there are plenty of stunning landscapes to explore both close and further afield. This site may be in the middle of nowhere, but there is lots nearby to keep you busy. On the main site, year round, there are six pitches - three hardstanding and three grass. Each pitch on the main site offers an electric hook up, as well as the yurts, shepherd's hut and gypsy wagon, all within easy reach of the shower block and overlooking the valley towards Alfred's Tower. The Hay Field is open for weekends throughout July and August. This field has toilet and shower facilities, and very spacious pitches. There will also be live musicians in this field on some Saturdays during peak season and early evening sessions to be enjoyed around a campfire! There is also a visiting storyteller, outdoor yoga sessions can be arranged too. Each of the two yurts sleeps up to six, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. This includes a double bed, floor mattresses, bed linen, a log burner, camp stove and electric. Outside, there is also a fire pit, furniture, and even a kitchen shed shared with other yurt guests. For a real touch of luxury, opt for the shepherd's hut with its own private wood-fired hot tub. Inside is a kingsize bed above two single twin beds, along with a kitchenette and outdoor fire pit and furniture. A six person bell tent is also available onsite. You will find quirky features dotted around too, including hand painted plants pots, signs and more. There is also a pet corner for meeting the friendly onsite animals! Close by there is also Kingfisher stud where you can board your horse and have riding lessons on them while you are here. Dogs are welcome onsite, along with raised BBQs and fire pits.

Sunnyhill Park Campsite is open from 01/01 to 30/09.

Facilities and amenities

This site offers a unisex facility block with toilets and showers, and during peak season there are additional compost toilets. There is also a caravan kitchen with a hob and oven for glampers and a pizza oven for campers and glampers. Fire pits are dotted around the site available to rent and logs are available to purchase.

For some local pubs, there is The Unicorn which can be reached across a couple of fields from the back of the campsite. Or, for a longer walk, The Smithy in Charleton Musgrove is available. For picking up the essentials, Co-op in Wincanton is just a five minute drive from the site.

A note from the site themselves...

Sunnyhill Farm used to be my Dad's family farm and has been in the family since 1940! Over the years we have sold off parts but still hung onto our little patch of campsite and a couple of fields. My parents are now retired in Devon and I took over the campsite in 2018.

I work hard with a great team of colourful characters to create the Sunnyhill Park Campsites new persona, and we still have a way to go! Goats, horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, cats and dogs add to the magical atmosphere. But be careful of the dogs as they might try to steal from your BBQ!

I love this place with all my soul, and I hope guests see the beauty of the place. We want to provide a unique and personal break with an amazing view in the middle of nowhere. There is no place like Sunnyhill because Sunnyhill is me, Alexandra

Yurt - YurtsAug 2023

A gem hidden in the hills of the countryside, friendly and welcoming by both humans and animals. The yurt was perfectly equipped and a bonus of the additional caravan kitchen, which provided a fridge and cooking facilities. Well functioning shower and toilet facilities and washing up area. There was so much space for the children to play and explore safely with minimal/ barely any traffic. A totally back to nature break with the most exquisite views, a lovely ending to some busy days visiting Longleat and Wooky Hole. Some beautiful walks through the countryside with routes provided. A quiet retreat which is sympathetic with the natural environment and views, no overcrowding and plenty of space for privacy and relaxation. Will definitely be back.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesApr 2024

We stayed for one night in the middle of our journey to see family. There was electric hardstands, toilets & showers, waste bins and fresh water. There was also a toilet disposal point and a dishwasher point. The site was dog friendly and had a lovely view. What more do you need? All in good condition. We were greeted and shown around on arrival by friendly staff.

Site's response

Thank you for your positive review. Hopefully you will book again with us in the not to distant future.
