About The Wildings Campsite

Just a short walk from the picturesque, traditional village of Bourton-on-the-Water, this tranquil site offers an idyllic escape from your day-to-day stresses. Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, you will be surrounded by scenic walking routes, charming country pubs and beautiful farmland. For those looking for a traditional camping experience, the site offers 27 non electric grass tent pitches, each measuring 9m x 9m. The pitches each welcome up to six guests with the camping field being vehicle free so no one is awoken by the sound of slamming car doors. If glamping is more your style, the site has a wide variety for you to choose from. There are seven bell tents that are situated in their own little area of the site, ideal for booking with family or friends. Each bell tent comes equipped with a groundsheet, carpeting, twinkling fairy lights and bunting. The Sorrel Luna Tent is a great choice for a spacious summer yurt. Set in its own little garden surrounded by willow hedging the 5m bell tent and yurt hybrid comes with a double bed and camp beds all with sheets, a wood-burning stove for those cooler evenings, logs, tableware, and cooking utensils. Two handcrafted tipis also make for a great glamping getaway, each in an enclosed willow garden. The traditional tipis are built with 20-foot poles creating a spacious inside fitted with a double bed and camp beds with sheets, tableware, cooking utensils, fairy lights, a battery-powered lantern, blankets and wicker chairs for enjoying your morning coffee. Perfect for a cosy night's sleep, the site has two fully insulated yurts, each lined with British sheep wool. The boutique yurts are fully furnished, each coming with a double bed and camp beds with sheets, a wood-burning stove, tableware, cooking utensils, fairy lights, a lantern, wicker chairs and blankets. The Sorrel Luna Tent, Tipis and Yurts all sleep up to five guests. Outside each unit, you will also find a firepit with a grill, a box of logs and outdoor seating, perfect for al fresco dining. Six 4m x 4m, insulated camping pods also offer a great alternative to camping. The pods also sleep up to five, equipped with a double bed and camp beds with sheets, electric heating, lighting and plug sockets. The site also has a wide range of extras available, from bedding and Prosecco to deck chairs and a pizza oven! Four-legged friends are also welcome, so don't forget to pack the dog treats.

The pods and yurts are open from February to December, the bell tents and tipis are open from Easter to October and camping is open from Easter to November.

A note from the site themselves...

My name is Kim and along with my wonderful husband Angus and my three children, India, Bunty, and Fergus, have built this campsite. Angus' family have run the farm for generations, so the land here is very precious to us.

Together we had the idea to rewild our lovely little field and wanted to share our wonderful part of the Cotswolds so we decided to set up our campsite. We aim for our site to be welcoming, comfortable, and as nature-filled as possible, with the aim of providing guests with peace and relaxation and have worked hard to achieve this as our end goal.

Our vision is of an airy woodland filled with silver birch trees, natural hedgerows, and even some little hiding holes for visiting hedgehogs - come and see what you can spot! The site started in 2019 and so we are still finding our feet (bear with us!) but it'll soon grow into a beautiful haven for nature and a great place to escape!

Pod - Camping PodsMar 2024

Really nice setting, super convenient for food and groceries while still being out in the middle of the countryside. Their shop is full of local produce and really well priced. Great coffee too.

Lovely and peaceful campsite

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesSep 2023

Lovely campsite with the option of camping or glamping. We were lucky enough to have the campsite to ourselves, so was very peaceful. Lots of lovely little touches around the place that show the site is well cared for. The toilets and showers are very clean and spacious. It rained quite heavily in the early hours of our first morning, so we were unable to cook outside as usual. Angus and Kim (who are very lovely) have provided a beautiful indoor kitchen with table and chairs which everyone can use. Perfect place to hide from occasional downpours. The stunning Bourton-on-the-Water is about a 15 minute walk downhill and about a 25 min walk back uphill. Beautiful village. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would definitely stay again.

Relaxing stay

Bell Tent - Bell TentsJul 2023

Relaxing two nights in one of the bell tents. Also hired a Bundlebed bedding set - this included towels, which was a good surprise. Compared to bringing our own tent, it meant we didn't have to worry about space in the car. The showers were hot, the shop had some handy bits (our son enjoyed the mini-sweet shop, and we stocked up on eco-friendly essentials), the coffees were delicious and it was great to have a back-up of a kettle/oven/fridge. We also thought nearby Bourton-on-the-water was a great visit, esp with kids. The campsite team were friendly and really helpful - overall helped us to relax in a lovely environment.
