About The Quirky Quarry
The hut is surrounded by a walled garden, within four acres of beautiful land - including a paddock, stable and quarry. The site is around a mile from the picturesque town of Middleton-in-Teesdale. Cosy and comfortable, the shepherd's hut includes an en-suite lovely shower and proper flushing toilet. There is a comfy double bed with bedding, a heater to keep you nice and warm, plus handy extras like a hamper full of crockery, cutlery and glasses. A fridge, sink and kettle are supplied, which combine with the BBQ and fire pit outside to make for excellent cooking. A tasty breakfast is included in your stay.

Things to do on site and in the Barnard Castle area
As you'd expect, the Pennines are paradise for walkers - and the site is happy to help. You can request a pick up or drop off at the ideal starting point or even a packed lunch to whip out when you need a break.
So where to? There's the expansive Pennine Way to explore and the Teesdale Way, which runs from Cumbria to County Durham, via plenty of pretty riverside stretches.
The hut is centrally located for trips to the Lakes, Northumberland and Hadrian's Wall, which are all within a two hour drive.
