Facilities and amenities

This site includes heated toilet and hot shower facilities, with disabled friendly facilities available. The showers are 20p for two minutes and coins can be swapped at reception if needed.

The Bothy is a small room on site that has facilities for phone charging, and a communal fridge/freezer. You can find local weather information and also hang your wet kit here. The car park is separate to the camping fields, but there are wheelbarrows to help you move your kit.

Edale also has two welcoming pubs, The Old Nags Head and The Rambler Inn that both offer great food and drink, perfect as a reward after a long days walk. There are also two cafe's, Penny Pot Café and Newfold Farm Cafe, where you can get a lovely coffee or hot chocolate, and even a bite to eat to take on your adventure. Forgotten that essential item, then Edale General Store is the place to go, just a short walk to the end of the village.

A note from the site themselves...

We've been running the site since January 2022, although its been here for many years, we're really happy to be putting our stamp on this special little campsite.

We both are very passionate about camping and the outdoors, having studied outdoors at university and worked in the industry for many years, we're very excited to share our enthusiasm for camping and all things outdoors with everyone that stays with us.

In our spare time we love walking with our lovely two border collies (who you'll probably meet when your here), and camping too (but we save this for the quiet winter days so we can be here to greet you!).

We would love to meet you and here about your adventures too!

Backpacker Tent - Hiker/Cyclist Pitch (No Car)Mar 2024

I mistakenly booked for the 5th March and actually arrived on the 4th, but they were kind enough to let me stay that night instead. My first time in the Peak District and the lady (sorry I didn't get her name) was happy to give me lots of really helpful advice on where to go and what the conditions might be like. The campsite itself was nice, simple and well equipped, all that I needed and just a couple of minutes' walk from Edale station.

Small Tent - Hiker/Cyclist Pitch (No Car)Jul 2023

I am nervous about writing a review as that may mean more people will book it, making it harder for us to book again!! We definitely will. The location is perfect, the site is the best we have stayed on and everyone was so friendly and helpful.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your lovely review Amanda! We really do appreciate this soo much. We're very glad you enjoyed your stay here and we look forward to seeing you again soon hopefully!
