Ruby's Orchard is ideal for exclusive-use glamping - and when you book, you have the entire pretty place to yourself. Taking 'comfortable camping' as its cue, the yurt here is a winner for a couple's getaway or small group break. But the real draw is the nature - starry skies, deep woods and a gentle river are all only metres away. Set off on the Tarka Trail nearby.
There's something magical about having the whole place to yourself. This exclusive use campsite is tucked amid mixed woodland of spruce, alder and many more, hidden away in this beautiful corner of Devon. An idyllic location, it's ideal for people travelling light and looking for a bit of peace and quiet. The owner lives off site, but is available via text or phone call. Inside the yurt you'll find a spacious king size bed, futon beds as extras and a delightful wood burner to keep you warm. Outside is seating, a lovely fire bowl and bucket BBQs where you can get the sausages sizzling. The owner has a polytunnel and growing cage on site and a hive of bees is kept here, but in a separate fenced area from the camp. The owner may be working in the polytunnel on some days, but will not bother you unless you want a chat, and you will definitely have the place to yourselves in the evenings. There's no mains electricity on site and the solar and rechargeable lighting helps minimise light pollution and help campers to see the stars. The owner is keen to encourage wildlife and improve biodiversity, so there are wild areas and to attract birds and butterflies
Opening times may vary, but are generally from mid May to mid September.

Ruby's Orchard is in a quiet area, so no loud music or late- night noise please, as it disturbs both the few neighbours and the wildlife.
Please leave Ruby's Orchard as you find it and sort your rubbish as requested.
If you are into cycling, Ruby's Orchard is next to a lane that is part of the N27 National Cycle route and is just over a mile from the Tarka Trail. You can go for a short walk along the river Torridge or if feeling more energetic, a hike in Dartmoor National Park, or venture down to the coast for surfing and swimming.
Just under an hour's drive is the sand dune system at Braunton Burrows, which is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, perfect for watching wildlife.
