Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Lovely campsite, exactly what it said on the description. Owner really friendly and a warm welcome. It is right by the river, with a gate direct from camp to the river path. We would definitely stay again.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Excellent stay. My partner, I and our children really enjoyed our stay here. Very close to Paultons park where we had planned to go and just a short drive to lovely beaches where we spent our last day. The campsite has onsite toilets that were kept very clean, a lovely little river, some farm animals and a table tennis and basketball hoop for kids to play.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Overall the campsite was lovely, a bit close to a very busy railway, trains running all night. We have such a lovey stay and very amusing when the sheep decided to make a bid for freedom, Colin was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The only thing that really let it down was the poor state of the loos - but they served their job- just need a bit of TLC and they will be good again. Overall we have a lovely time and would go back again. 🥰⛺️☺️

Beautiful site right next to river, nice if its hot and you want a swim. Field is clean and the owner is friendly and happy to help out. However, toilet building had a few loo rolls on floor, and there's no hot water or shower if that's something you require. Was fine for us though. Was given a lovely firepit and even found a place for our hammock. Will be back again as an ideal short weekend break just to get away. Its a little loud at night, with the odd train and plane landing, but we still slept well. If traveling as a solo or small group of females, the owner is very friendly and whilst completely harmless, some jokes and comments may be a little off-putting.

Large field, pretty stream, very noisy. Disappointing.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

I wanted an inexpensive site near Winchester for a couple of nights. In that respect it did the job. Large, flat, mown grassy field with a pretty stream / river all the way along one side. Plenty of room for children to play. Multiple water points. Welcoming and helpful owner. However, it was very noisy, no signage - look out for the tatty farm shop sign saying 'meats' - farm shop long gone. Very run down. Obviously had been a well established site at one time but now, although the grass was cut, appeared rather derelict with piles of rubble dumped round about. including either side of the toilet block where a brick built structure has been demolished and replaced with a portacabin. The toilets (proper flushing porcelain loos) were cleaned and stocked with paper and soap but smelled as though the septic tank should have been emptied long ago. Totally inadequate lighting inside the ladies' (can't speak for the gents') which came on brightly on entry but dimmed to a glimmer almost immediately until you moved in front of the sensor again. Not impressed to see the men's urinals all on view (no attempt at a privacy screen) which are clearly and unavoidably on view when approaching the Ladies. No showers - but that was made clear. Regarding the location, 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' comes to mind. The site is on quite a busy road, next to the railway, with frequent diesel passenger and freight trains day and night, and on the approach flight path to Southampton airport. Take ear plugs! I'm a very seasoned camper and I like small, quiet, and even basic sites. I don't need all the mod cons but I found it sadly disappointing and at £21 per night for one person in a tiny tent, rather overpriced. It would take very little effort to tidy the site up, attend to the signage and sort out the issue of the very public urinals.

A lovely place to stay

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

I was really worried about camping on my own, but they immediately made me feel welcome. I was surrounded by lovely families in a lovely field. The campsite is right next to the river and I took a lovely walk down. There is a van to buy food and a farm with cute animals and horses in it. I loved it so much and I would recommend this place whole heartedly.
