About Mendip View Camping

This small family-friendly site offers the perfect getaway in the Somerset countryside. Just a 20 minute drive from Bristol city centre and only 30 minutes from the coast and the glorious shores of Clevedon Beach, you will also be ideally situated for days out too! For those looking to camp, the site offers grass pitches, suitable for both tents and caravans. Campers will also have the option of an electric hook up, and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy some much-needed peace and quiet. If glamping is more your style, the site has a whole range of bespoke accommodations for you to choose from. All of the units come fully furnished to a hotel room standard, along with having linen included. There is a beautiful yurt that sleeps up to four people in a king sized bed, a single bed and a further single trundle if required. Inside the decor is colourful with cosy rugs, its own little kitchen with a fridge, and the added benefit of power. Outside is a dining area, with a private compost loo and firepit/BBQ. The Thunderbolt is a quirky converted horse lorry sleeping four. Comprising of a king sized bed, and a small double above the living area, there is also an indoor seating area, kitchenette and cosy indoor wood-burning stove. You will also have outdoor furniture and a fire pit, along with a private composting toilet and deck off of the bedroom, perfect for stargazing and plane spotting. The horse lorry is completely off-grid, with solar powering the lighting and don't worry you can charge your devices! Dora, much like Thunderbolt, is a four berth converted horse lorry. This cosy horsebox is light and airy with magical fairy lighting at night. Inside is a well equipped small kitchenette, comfy living area, its own deck, outdoor firepit area and private composting toilet, whilst also being off-grid with solar power. Sleeping up to six, the converted Tour Bus is equipped with a double and four singles in two bunk beds. On board, you will find fancy LED lighting, a sound system, ensuite wetroom with a loo and shower, a well-equipped kitchen and a living area. Step out of the door and you will find your own al fresco dining area with firepit/bbq and loads of outdoor green space to enjoy. You will also have the luxury of your own wood-fired hot tub, perfect for evenings under the stars! The site is just off Felton Common, a nature reserve which it's great for wildlife spotting, walking and cycling. But, if you want to venture further afield, you will also be within an hour's drive of the Chew Valley Lake, Cheddar Gorge, Weston Super- Mare and the city of Bath too. Dogs are also welcome, so don't forget to pack the treats.

The yurt is available form April until the end of October. All other units are available all year.

Yurt - The YurtAug 2023

Great yurt. It was a shame about the weather, but all in all, had a great time and the kids loved it. Great location and not too far from Bristol city centre.

Glamping - The Tour BusJul 2023

We stayed on the Tour Bus for three nights, we had such a great time. There were four of us, which left plenty of room. The kids loved the bunk beds with privacy curtains, Great dens! The hosts were very attentive and lovely. The hot tub was a perfect way to end each day. The bus is well-equipped for your stay. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you.
