On the edge of one of the Midlands' most popular beauty spots, Cannock Chase has rolling hills, heathers, quiet forests and wild fallow deer. It is ideal for walking and exploring further afield.
The Chase is England's smallest mainland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and its Visitor Centre and café - two miles from site - are good places to start exploring. The area will appeal to walkers and there are a number of cross country and downhill mountain bike trails. The Museum of Cannock Chase also gives a fascinating insight into the history of mining in the region, while its highest point, where you'll find the remains of the iron-age hill fort at Castle Ring, is a mile's walk from site. Non-members welcome.
