Orchard Camping welcomes family and friends, to settle down around fires and BBQs while enjoying the beauty of Penistone views and the Pennines. Well behaved dogs are welcome and if you are walking, cycling or travelling light you can hire a tent and equipment for a hassle free stopover. Groups of 10 or more will receive sole use of the site and a chance to spread out and relax.
This family run small campsite brushes the edge of the Pennines and is set in the great walking country and top views of Penistone. There are six camping pitches with EHUs, but you can also book space for larger parties and special occasions thanks to the site's network of neighbouring pop-up campsites. Those families or people booking independently will not be booked in with a group. The site is a favourite with cycling and walking parties and makes an ideal resting point as you explore the Yorkshire countryside.
Open from 1 May to 31 October
Five grass pitches for tents with optional electric.
One hardstanding pitch with electric for a small campervan or motorhome.

Children should be supervised at all times by adults.
Dogs should be also supervised and kept on a lead.
There is plenty to do around the area, especially for walkers and cyclists. Walking trails vary from flat and gentle strolls to challenging hill climbs, with routes including the Penistone Boundary walk, Barnsley Boundary walk, Kirklees Way and Pennine Way.
There are a number of reservoirs close by too, with a five reservoir challenge taking in the most fantastic scenery and wildlife.
You'll also be close to the Trans-Pennine Trail, which leads to several of the surrounding villages - and on the doorstep of the recent Tour de France route.
A private indoor swimming pool is available at Willow Lodge, just along from the campsite. The local ice cream parlour Yummy Yorkshire is 2-3 miles up the road, with a good café and regular functions held there.
Cannon Hall Farm and Museum is around 5 miles from the campsite which is great day out for the family. As is Yorkshire Sculpture Park (about 9 miles away) where you can see many artwork and sculpture exhibitions.
