In the heart of rural Essex, the Kelvedon Hatch Camping and Caravanning club site is within striking distance of the beaches lining the Essex coast, and the cosmopolitan draw of London is only 40 minutes away by train from the local station.
The village of Kelvedon Hatch is best known for its once-secret nuclear bunker, which is now a museum with activities for all ages, including quad biking, archery, shooting and 'rope runners'. There's more to see in the nearby town of Brentwood, whose attractions include Mountnessing Windmill - a restored, working post mill - and Old MacDonald's Farm, a leisure park perfect for the children. Non-members welcome.
