A half-hour stroll from the centre of Norwich, Norwich Camping and Caravanning Club Site is on the banks of a river that anglers can use and its back-to-nature feel is enhanced by a smallholding with chickens and geese right next door.
Whitlingham Country Park, 1.5 miles from site, is also a haven for wildlife. In addition to being great for walking and cycling it also contains a watersports centre. All pitches here are on grass, with electric and jumbo pitches available. Non-members welcome.

If history, architecture or shopping are more your thing, head for the city of Norwich. Famed for its castle and cathedral, it has a variety of attractions, including more medieval churches than any other city in Western Europe, and four large malls to satisfy the fussiest shopper.
Outdoor enthusiasts will also enjoy the Norfolk Broads, which forms Britain's largest protected wetland and is home to some of the country's rarest plants and wildlife.
