The Limeburners Camping offers a peaceful stay, within five minutes of Billingshurst and the South Downs National Park. There are a number of grass pitches for tents, campervans and motorhomes, some of which have electric hook up. For glamping, there is a heated camping pod for those wanting something a little extra. You'll be surrounded by picturesque countryside and walking routes, with Horsham within a 15 minute drive too.

Limeburners pretty much ticked every box in our wants and needs for a relaxed peaceful get away in lovely surroundings. The owners were welcoming, friendly, helpful and approachable. We instantly felt comfortable and the camp felt safe. The campsite, despite being right behind the pub didn't feel like it was due to the layout and hedges. It felt like a stand alone campsite but with the convenience of the pub literally a few yards away, where we ate both nights. We were very happy with our meals, which were fairly priced, nice quality ingredients and care taken with presentation. The site facilities were ideal for our needs. The electric hook up worked perfectly, toilets were clean with plenty of soap and hot water, separate sinks for washing up and individual washing and shower cubicles. There's a small additional charge for showers but not enough to break the bank. Pitches were a nice size, interspaced with trees to suit shade seekers like myself on a hot day but plenty of sunshine too. The site was peaceful and quiet, and despite the occasional sound of planes (which was fairly gentle and didn't take long to get used to) or general traffic noise from nearby roads, the predominant sound was birdsong. We loved every minute of it!

We stayed for just one night on a grass pitch with EHU. Pitches are quite close together with no screening so, if you're looking for good privacy, this might be an issue. If you're travelling in a group though, this could be an advantage for you. It's near to a busy road which may also be an issue. On arrival, we were welcomed and shown to our pitch which was nice and level. Toilet and shower facilities were good, with plenty of hot water available. Note that showers are pay per go, which I personally think is not a problem at all. Good washing up facilities, also with hot water. The site is in the grounds of the pub. We ate in the pub and thought the food, beer selections, and wine was great. Prompt service, friendly staff. Probably not somewhere we would go back to, simply because of road noise and lack of privacy, but I'm happy to recommend it because other people have different needs. The facilities are great, as is the pub.

A lovely campsite. Very welcoming with an adorable pub attached. We stayed in a pod. Very comfortable, lovely and warm. Basic facilities but does have a kettle and a mini fridge.

For us, it was overpriced for staying in a camping field with electric. Use of site showers incur extra paying to use them. The toilets were okay and I did see a washing station for washing up plates, which looked okay and under cover. A part of the pub, which is nice. We still had a nice time enjoying our time in our motorhome and the site gave us the facilities we needed anyway.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our tent broke and a pod was sorted very quickly. The hosts were fantastic, friendly and available to help or sort with any needs. The only thing I would suggest is that the lights where the toilets are should be kept on all night, as the lady in the pod opposite us hurt her ankle in the middle of the night coming back from the toilets. Would definitely come back and recommend. Thank you.

The site is pretty, with lots of trees, and a large field for dog-walking. The pub does good pub food with outside tables and is very convenient. The lights in the toilets were switched off at night, so take a torch!

Lovely site in a good location. The food in the pub is delicious. The facilities are basic but functional and clean. The owner is flexible and helpful. Bit of road and airplane noise, but not too bad.

Small, friendly and basic caravan site, but that suited our needs. Limeburners pub had excellent food on one very wet and windy day. The site was looking for staff but Rib and the team worked really hard and were always helpful & friendly. Places to visit close by and lovely walks right from the campsite. Really enjoyed our stay!

A lovely site to stop for one night. Owner helpfully set us up next to our friends with a motorhome. Enjoyed an excellent dinner in the pub.

Was booked at the last minute. Mainly selected for the fact that there was a pub with food available. Lovely site, with great facilities.

I think the site was very good. If I had to be super critical, I would advise mop or squeegee in each shower but I must stress the toilets and showers were very clean. You have to pay for the shower with 20p or £1 coin. But trust me 4 mins for 20p or 17 mins for £1 - I chose the £1 option first time. Me and my son used the shower and still had 9 mins left and we didn't rush so it was well worth it! The pub is excellent too. It is a traditional pub and absolutely lovely.

We were looking for a place in Brighton last minute and couldn't find anything reasonably priced or with the facilities we wanted (we're not super picky but wanted toilets/showers and EHU). This site provided all of that. Was about an hour out of Brighton, but perfect for what we wanted. Rob was super friendly, and the showers were lovely (they're an additional charge but was the best £1 I've spent for ages) Facilities were clean, the other campers were friendly and the site was easy to find. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Had a lovely weekend break here in our motorhome. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, lovely clean site with clean facilities. The pub is lovely and the food was superb, I had the Hong Kong salmon on both nights as it was that good. We would definitely recommend the Limeburners. The village with a few pubs, restaurants and shops is a pleasant, 15 minute stroll away.

Only pickup was that there was no toilet roll in female toilets twice.

This was our first stay at The Limeburners. The site itself is nice, not too big but you don't feel cramped and the grass and hedges are all nicely maintained. We had a nice greeting from the manager. It was a bank holiday weekend so it was going to get busy. We took a nice circular walk from the pub following the Arun river and beautiful countryside. Great for dogs and no roads to negotiate. Our only gripe was the showers. There were only three and you had to pay 20p or £1.00 each time. The showers were hot enough but they were tiny with no real place to put your clothes or to sit if you need to to get shoes on etc. We also had to scrabble to find cash too. I feel like this cost could be factored into the cost of the camping. There was rusting around the shower tray and the floors were dirty, which is a hazard of camping, but still, toilets were grubby and they ran out of soap. Some general TLC of the facilities would make this site a 5 for us. The pub was nice. Food was good, but I would advise to book so they know you're coming. Nice pub garden helped by some beautiful sunshine.

When we were arrived, we were told that we would have to park on the road that runs up the middle of the site as the grass pitches were waterlogged and they were trying to keep them from becoming muddy. It has been a wet April, but then April is usually wet. It has no hardstanding pitches and no drainage so it was set to be a wet site. There seemed to be quite a lot of vehicles that were being used by workmen, which didn't give a great feel to the site. Also we chose the site as there was a pub that looked nice on the website but in fact was not serving food. If we had known these things we wouldn't have used the site. On the upside, it was nice and quiet. Also it is close to all the pubs, all a drive away, and nice walks.

Really nice campsite. I did feel sorry for owners as the weather had not helped for the ability to allow more campers to be able to stay. Due to storm, we left a day early. Lovely location with so many walks when the weather is in order. Adjoining pub has fantastic meals. All persons very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.

Had a nice stay here, the pub landlord was nice and helpful when we arrived as the site was very wet and muddy. The weather wasn't kind, so we didn't get to see much of the area. Would highly recommend the pub as the food was lovely and all the staff were friendly.

Lovely location. We felt the welcome could have been friendlier, but the owner seemed more concerned about the grass than us. It didn't help that we'd missed that we should have gone to the office first, which wasn't obvious. The pub attached was really nice for drinks, but we felt the food was poor. Overall we felt that the site was a bit overpriced and the owner's unfriendly attitude let the site down, which was a shame given the great location.
Site's response
We do ask that guests check in at reception and were being careful to allocate pitches because the ground was still a little soft after the recent bad weather.
