About The Swallows

This dog friendly, adult only space is a great spot to relax and get away from it all. This beautiful glamping site offers the best of both worlds - a rural retreat in the Carmarthenshire countryside but within five minutes of the village of Llandybïe for your holiday essentials. You will have the exclusive use of a 5 metre bell tent furnished with all the necessary bedding, cooking facilities, a woodland shower and a toilet surrounded by trees. Everything is off-grid as the site aims to strike a balance between providing the comforts of home and its impact on the environment. Start your day with complimentary, freshly laid eggs from the resident rescue hens for breakfast. Then enjoy a full day exploring the meadow for a bit of nature spotting, looking out for birds of prey, including red kites and buzzards and, of course, the swallows who nest here every year. Picnic under the shade of trees or paddle in the stream with your four-legged friends. Alternatively, you can, of course, just do nothing but sit and admire the view. In the evening, relax by the fire pit and admire the dark skies overhead, offering a great opportunity for some star gazing. From the site, there is easy access to plenty to see and do with hidden gems like Llansstefan Beach and Aberglasney Gardens, up to 30 minutes away. Plus, the Brecon Beacons is just a 15 minute drive away, with Pen Y Fan and waterfalls just under an hour away. Dogs are warmly welcomed at this idyllic retreat.

A note from the site themselves...

We have tried to create an escape, where you can leave the world behind and immerse yourself in tranquillity and seclusion. We hope you can reconnect with nature and each other to remember why you are together, be it friends or lovers.

Our passions are nature, wildlife and our animals and we feel lucky that we can enjoy them here at the Swallows. We want to share these with our visitors and hope they love it as much as we do, Claire

Bell Tent - Bell TentJul 2023

Where do I begin? Claire and Martin are probably the loveliest people I've ever met, the location is beautiful, and they've really gone above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Dog friendly, clean, and delicious eggs each day from the free range rescue hens! I can't fault anything about our stay, they really have thought of everything and we will without a doubt be back!

Warmest welcome

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Gravel PitchesAug 2022

Ok not high luxury but it's not meant to be and we loved it for that. Great setting. Lots of space. Quirky facilities and the warmest of welcomes. We did a one night stop and will go out of our way to stay again in future. Many thanks Martin and Clare, you have a wonderful plot there!

The owners were very friendly and helpful and they were keen to advise on the local attractions. The site is very quiet and dog friendly. The compost loo was clean and comfortable. A highlight for us is the beautiful meadow where our dog could run free. It is in very easy reach of the Botanic Garden of Wales, which is absolutely fabulous. The nearby town Llandeilo is lovely and the coast is handy for days out.
