About Alexander House Glamping

The grounds of the large Scottish country house offer stunning views in every direction. It's the perfect place to find peace and quiet and a retreat from daily life. The site is ideal for honeymoons, anniversaries and other celebrations. Alexander House is just a five minute drive from Gleneagles and less than an hour from Edinburgh, set in the picturesque Perthshire Hills. Treat yourself to a stay in the luxury yurt with a private hot tub and packed with little luxuries. Guests are greeted with fine linens, feather duvets, stove top wood burners and electric blankets to keep them warm. There are also lights and power sockets. The en-suite bathroom contains a flushing loo, roll top bath and a shower. Sorry, dogs are not permitted. Or how about a special break in a cosy converted horsebox, with space for two smaller children and one dog? Juniper has queen sized bed plus a toasty radiator to keep you warm, lights, power sockets inside and, in the en-suite, an excellent toilet, bath and shower. This former horsebox has been beautifully renovated to offer a family friendly option with all the same beautiful furnishings. Thistle offers the same cosy cabin feel on wheels and is positioned to look out over lovely views. Inside is a fabulous fold down queen sized bed, a galley kitchen and your own ensuite facilities. It's a chic, decorated space with room in a cosy nook within the lorry cab to sleep two little ones up to age 10. Top notch bedding is supplied for the adults, but do bring sleeping bags for the kids. Outside all units, there is plenty of space with tables and chairs/picnic benches, benches with views, gas BBQs and wood fired hot tubs.

Alexander House Glamping is open from 01/01 to 19/12.

Glamping - Thistle Cosy Cabin on WheelsFeb 2024

Had an amazing stay. The views were incredible and the horsebox was cosy and romantic. Only a couple of issues. The shower would go freezing after about a minute of it being on which wasn't great. Also, the hot tub would take ages to heat and then be scorching for hours and wouldn't go to a temp you could get in for a substantial amount of time. We weren't able to be in until like 10pm haha. Anyway, it was an amazing stay and the staff were very helpful. Would recommend.

Yurt - Heather YurtJan 2023

We stayed in the very cosy yurt 'Heather'. We had terrible weather but we were warm with the wood heater and enjoyed a hot bath in place of the hot tub. The bathroom yurt is spacious and warm with a heater and almost everything you could want for comfort is provided - slippers, mirrors, big towels, shampoo and body wash. The main yurt provides cooking utensils, a lovely big bed with electric blankets and a big sofa you can watch the fire from. It was a cosy refuge from the awful weather and I can only imagine how much better the experience would be if it was sunny as the property offered walking trails.

Site's response

Thanks so much for your lovely review Eva! We are glad you enjoyed your stay in yurt Heather even though the weather wasn't so great. Maybe we'll see you back in the summer months?! :)

Perfect romantic getaway - log fire and log fired hot tub kept us warm and feeling cosy despite it being -4°C while we stayed. Highly recommend the Heather yurt for anyone looking to disappear from the world for a few nights!
