Bishops Lydeard Caravan and Camping Site is a rural family friendly site in Bishops Lydeard, a great base for exploring the idyllic Somerset countryside. There is a mixture of non electric and electric grass pitches for campers and tourers, with shower rooms onsite too. Backed by it's own woodland, this is a lovely spot to unwind in nature.

A peaceful touring and camping site spread across a two-acre field surrounded by protected woodland just on the edge of Bishops Lydeard village. The site is set in the grounds of the 18th-century Greenway House, a Grade II listed building. There are 20 tent pitches, 15 of which have 16 amp electric hook up. There are an additional six touring pitches with five of these having the same 16 amp electric hook up. All of the pitches are set on grass and are very spacious. This is a great choice for train enthusiasts looking to ride the Somerset steam railway, or anyone looking to relax amongst the calming countryside setting. You'll even share the space with, ducks, geese and chickens! Dogs are welcome onsite and there are plenty of nearby hikes and trails to take them on, just please keep them on the lead when on site. Dogs listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted. Fire pits are not allowed but BBQs are, just make sure to raise them off the ground so that the grass doesn't get damaged.

Perhaps a few long walks or bike rides would fit the bill? There are plenty of options in the nearby Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, around the Blackdown Hills AONB just a 20 minute drive away.
The South West Coast Path starts just half an hour away in Minehead and it's got plenty of beachy activities too. A little inland from Minehead is the splendid Dunster Castle. Other great options for days out close by might include horse riding, just ten minutes from site.
