Bishops Lydeard Caravan and Camping Site is a rural family friendly site in Bishops Lydeard, a great base for exploring the idyllic Somerset countryside. There is a mixture of non electric and electric grass pitches for campers and tourers, with shower rooms onsite too. Backed by it's own woodland, this is a lovely spot to unwind in nature.

Very quiet site, just what we wanted. When I said quiet, it was, apart from the geese that would break into song on occasions, but this was brilliant to hear and watch! Well kept site and flat. The toilets, as others mentioned, are porta-loos. As festival goers, we are used to using these, some campers didn't. There is a shower but didn't use. Very good two night stay.

It is a lovely campsite, very peaceful and pretty. Owner was lovely and enjoyed the geese. One shower which was very nice. The toilets were cleaned daily but were portaloos and not nice. Would recommend the site, especially if you have your own toilet facilities.

Small field site with basic amenities, one shower and a row of portaloos. However, was fully aware of this as clearly marked on website and didn't require as had own in caravan. Lots of geese and cockerels in plot next to field. Ideal short weekend breakππ

Great little site - chilled and relaxing. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Site was nicely kept and the poultry made it feel like a real countryside experience. The location is good, inland but only half an hour to a beach if that's your thing. Dog friendly, basic shower block and portaloos which is fine for a camping holiday. If you're after a busy action-packed holiday it's probably not for you, but if you're looking for a tranquil getaway it's perfect.

Lovely site tucked away in a peaceful haven. The house and yard are pristine with plenty of animals around who all seem very friendly, I'd imagine kids would love this site too! The host is a wonderful lady, very welcoming and doesn't mind a friendly chat if you wish and her son is a great chap. Very friendly people, take you as they find you. It's a hidden gem!

It's the first time we have stayed here and we really enjoyed it. We received a warm welcome on arrival and as we had chosen a non-electric pitch we were told we could park we ever we wanted. The site is spacious and tidy. There are the usual facilities for emptying your chemical toilet and grey water and obviously a tap for drinking water. There is also a row of portaloos, although we never used them. It is a small holding so there are geese chickens and a cockerel but the cockerel slept in later than we did so at least it never woke us up. It's a short walk to the village and a shorter walk to the Quantock brewery and tap room. It is a basic site but it is peaceful and quiet and it was a good price plus Β£2 for the dog. We will definitely be going back there.

Loved this site, a proper campsite on a small holding with chicken and geese who were surprisingly quiet. Lovely host and such a relaxing spot. We have family nearby so will be visiting again. The site doesn't have a shower but that didn't matter as we are self sufficient and to be honest, for 2 nights it's fine. Plenty of things to see and do, including steam trains, brewery and dog walks.

Lovely setting, close to steam railway also a bonus. Very friendly, helpful host. Would return, although not so keen on the porta-loos!

Very friendly and helpful staff, obviously a family run site and it showed in the warm welcome. Lovely, quiet and easy to find location but within easy reach of local attractions. All in all a very enjoyable weekend and we will be using this site again.

Had the place to myself at the end of April. Helped me out of a tight spot while I was having major repairs done to my bike. Lovely owner living the good life (literally), with a campsite attached, great spot, recommended.

Great little campsite, very welcoming and always smiling π. Been here on 2 occasions and will definitely return. Quiet and what services are there are clean and adequate. Near to village, for groceries, pubs, fuel station, tea room and lovely little train station where you can get on a steam train. Thank you.

The lady that met us on arrival was extremely friendly, explained where everything was. Let us know of what was in and around the area. Nice small farm birds around and we managed to buy some delicious eggs, thank you.

This is a very affordable campsite in a very picturesque setting. Very close to all Bishops Lydeard's amenities (pubs, brewery, West Somerset Railway). Had a nice time, very peaceful. Just be aware that there is no shower block, just onsite portaloos.
